Food for thought
*THE NAMIBIA partnership with China is new colonialism on Namibian people. Our people are suffering at the hands of the Chinese. Why are our own leaders selling out our country like that? It’s shameful.
Educational
*TIME for change. The Ministry of Education, please appoint Nakale ya Nakale as the ambassador of Education. He is a good influence on the learners through his music. We get a message. Gazza is just concentrating on ‘shukusha’ rather than giving us motivation about our education.
– Nani
*DR ABRAHAM Iyambo, we can’t take it any longer. It’s very hot being taught in tents. It’s now almost a year. The environment is not conducive for learning. When will they start to construct our classes at Ongwediva Control Combined School. Please.
– Concerned learner.

*MTC KINGPIN Tim Ekandjo, what goes around comes around... feel the pain! The ‘Hart Van Windhoek’ that you’re spitting blood about doesn’t come close to the abuse that MTC contract clients are used to. We pay your salary, and fund your ‘Aweh’ campaigns for Tango-users, but we’re the red-headed step-children that must foot your bill. And on the 28th of each month, your billing system sucks an insane amount out of its thumb, that no one (not even your own employees) understand. I feel sorry for our local artists, but you knew who you were getting ‘into bed’ with, and you are practising double standards. Get your house in order... you have no sympathy from your contract clients!
*WELL DONE golden girl Johanna Benson. God bless you and your family. I propose that the Namibian Olympic Paraplegic Committee establish a sports fund in her honour. Every Namibian contributes N$10 per month. 10 per cent to golden Jo. 45 per cent to each of Namibia’s Olympic Committees to be spent directly in youth sport development. My N$120 is coming.

*THE NAMIBIA Paralympic team arriving on a South African flagged aircraft. Ouf! Air Namibia blunder.
*GIVE credit where it’s due. We congratulate the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration for their good performance at the recently ended Ongwediva Trade Fair. But issuance of Permanent Residence Permits and Citizenship and the level of transparency leaves a lot to be desired.
*HOLDING on to power. I won’t be surprised to hear Dr Ngurare saying he is no more a doctor but a nurse. The brother is growing younger.
*CHANTING out loud that Ngurare should step down does not help much. Just like somebody beating in the footprints of the snake while the snake already passed by and found refuge. Congress fever!
*FELLOW Namibians, do not be fooled by Abraham Iyambo’s supposed tirade against the section of parents at Haihambo Primary School in the Ohangwena Region who were responsible for closure of the school. To date, no charges were laid against the hooligans who closed the school, because apparently the powers that be interfered to ensure their members got off scot-free. There is very little hope that something positive will happen in this regard. Now one wonders if the Minister of Education was a man of himself. If nothing happens to these parents, as appears to be the case, would it be fair to have the principal transferred on the pretext of her security? Dr Iyambo, are you not just punishing her because she allowed your political adversary to be the school patron in your ministry? Did our dear doctor succumb to political pressure or is he showing his true colours now?
Very disappointed!
*THE NAMIBIAN, you keep on telling us that “the Geingob camp” suffers a blow first at the SPYL and now in Okahandja. Can you also please inform us in whose camp are the other 27 SPYL CC members who were elected and also those elected in Okahandja? Are you maybe campaigning for someone against Hage Geingob?
– Illovo, Walvis Bay.
*KAZENAMBO Kazenambo you are a true hero, a man of honesty and dignity. Thank you for your steadfastness, we love you.
*IS SUCCESSION only applicably in Swapo? Nothing is happening at other parties, ie DTA, Nudo, Swanu, CoD and RDP. It seems there is no democracy in opposition parties.

*TIM Ekandjo, have you asked yourself what Namibians want to experience at these music shows? We invest money into purchasing these concert tickets, and certainly want a return on our investment. Let’s call a spade, a spade. [Some of] Our local artists do nothing but lip synch with computerised instruments! Secondly, we want to be sure that our children enjoy these shows without being exposed to vulgar, indecent dress codes etc. At Hart Van Windhoek, it was safe to take the kids along without fear of “indecency” on the stage. Since you are so concerned, why don’t you invest in purchasing proper instruments for the locals, and in the same vein, provide some ethical training to them, by all means, then we shall support them! To the organisers of Hart Van Windhoek, you have done a great job, keep it up!
*CADRES, we should stand up and mobilise ourselves and call for Kazenambo’s recall! Enough is enough! We are already trying to survive and we have a senior cabinet Minister who does not respect the citizenry! Until when? Let us all call a Press Conference in our respective regions and ask the President to act on Kazenambo ASAP! We have nothing to lose!

*MINISTER of Prisons, shame on you. Your employees are footing to and from work in uniform. What is happening? We don’t hear one single word or any news about your ministry. Please do something, I feel so ashamed.
– Concerned Citizen.
*IT IS very sad to see the ordinary poor man being squeezed by his own government and the private sector that can hardly afford to buy fuel, food or even water to sustain their families. There is basically no hope for ordinary men, who are actually the ones coming out in numbers to vote, hoping for a better future whilst being lied to!
Please Help
*CAN anyone from a legal perspective please explain to me if it is legal when you are the number one candidate but the work is given to someone else! Please help!
*LABOUR Commission, when are you going to fully implement the new amendment of August 1? The temporary workers must enjoy the same benefits as permanent employees, especially those working in the mines. These workers are suffering too much and this is a serious matter because our minerals are being taken out but the local people will be left with empty hands!
In and from the Regions
*THERE is not a single school in the Kavango Region where school board members or the so-called board of governors have any say in school matters, be it the appointment of teachers or spending of the school’s development fund. The principals and their heads of department are the decision makers. The board members are just eaters and not makers. They are like dead fish or carcasses that flow down stream and never up stream.
*INSPECTOR of Education in Grootfontein, it’s show time and my concern is this: some schools used to have tents there and let the teachers sell during school hours. It is not good. The school must take people from the community not teachers.
*I WONDER why people living alongside the Kavango river pay high rates for water. Is it because of the chloride that they add once every few months? Rundu Town Council please be reasonable.

*FRUSTRATED by Ohangwena senior officers. We are forced to serve at Onhuno roadblock under harsh conditions. Our presence (checkpoint) is not visible to motorists. We have escaped death more than 10 times since 2010. Nobody cares. May Minister Mbumba intervene please?
*WHEN will the electricity of the Ondeikela open? Almost two years now with just poles and wires standing! Omulonga councillor give the answer please, comrade.
*Thank you NBC for your short coverage of Golden Girl Benson but I’m disappointed with your reporting of Damara King Justus //Garoeb while he was giving support. But we know your agenda and you are the biggest culprit in dividing tribes because of financial gain. Remember nothing is forever!
*ADRIAAN Beukes (of Kalkrand) you said you are “die baas van die plaas” why is your “plaas” in darkness, what happened?
*THE OHANGWENA Regional Council is forcing the Directorate of Education to relocate its offices from Ondangwa to Eenhana as soon as possible yet there is no accommodation for the staff. Please Chief Regional Officer, we want your intervention in this matter. Relocation should be put on hold until December 31 while staff arrange their accommodation.
Health Care
*DR KAMWI when is Onandjokwe LMS going to be a government hospital and why do nurses at this hospital work limited overtime hours and not receive reasonable salaries on time? And at the same time they are nursing private patients without being paid by private doctors whereas at other hospitals, nurses are paid by private doctors. We are very tired, please hear our concern!
*KATUTURA Hospital, you are 100 per cent responsible for air pollution affecting Windhoek residents with chest pains, especially Khomasdal residents, next to your hospital. That air pollution which comes from behind your hospital. Do something. You are killing us silently.
Response to previous SMSes
*The person who SMSed to civil servants and said that increments are not rights, please tell your boss not to give you a raise for 10 years! An incentive is performance related, it’s not an increase!
*AND in Rehoboth you will get 120 units for N$200, so stop complaining. Jankowski has us firmly in his grip and is squeezing us dry. That’s what you get from extending his contract. So who’s to blame?
