Dressing Down
*MUMS you are trying to give a bad name to a pool that is up to date and strict. The staff may not have seen the costumes in question because it was crowded. Some of us as parents are not looking after our own kids. I know they don’t allow underwear there. Maybe they wore the ‘Brazilian costume’.
*OUR women, mostly young women are going all out to defend the ‘skimpy’ dress code that we find all over nowadays. What you need to know is that you have ruined the very norms and values that guided us all along. Where do sugar daddies and teenage rapes come from? That short skirt is not innocent! Charge them with misconduct if they again expose themselves at public swimming pools in G-strings. Sies man! That’s disgusting!
*I AGREE with the City of Windhoek to enforce a proper code of dress at public swimming pools. Ladies should use private pools if they wish to show off their bodies in provocative swimwear.
*AT the G-string complaint: Children are not affected by such costumes and there is nothing indecent about it. Do not use your kids as arguments for your insecurities. These mothers are the ones who allow their kids to watch exposed women on TV!
*MAYBE it is not the skimpily clad visitors to the swimming pool but prudish behaviour by parents that does more to damage to kids than some exposed bottoms.
Food for Thought
*THE matter of Abraham George and Nama Gaobab refers: I see GRN vehicles every day, everywhere; at schools dropping off children, in front of shebeens and whereever. Were they framed?
*HOW can an airline like Air Namibia have one of the most expensive catering contracts in the world, including airlines like Swissair, Lufthansa and Qatar Airlines? Who’s getting what in this deal?
*GIVE a man a goat and you feed him for a week. Give families the Basic Income Grant and they’ll teach our nation how to make a living. Thanks to the German Special Initiative for proving this point. Long live Bishop Kameeta!
*CAN someone please enlighten us? Is Suiderhof and Olympia now the new training ground for helicopter pilots? They fly over our area every day, the whole day? The noise is really disturbing! What about our safety should that thing fall? We don’t know who to turn to?
*WORKERS want increases because they look at the lifestyle of the bosses. These lifestyles are like petrol on fire for strikes.
*NO way can we allow Ninja and his 23 buddies out in public on charges of rape and other violent crimes with aggravated circumstances.
*ISRAEL should be condemned by the whole world as they are committing crimes against humanity. There is no justification for killing innocent people on their land. Please take Israel to the ICC! Viva Palestine!
*STRIKES and many problems that ordinary Namibians are faced with could be addressed by using a different electoral system, not the current party list system we have now. Wake up Namibians!
Suggestion Box
*LEADERS of Namibia, stop saying that Namibia is a rich country because the wealth is only for few people like ministers and others. Please learn to share.
Teachers
*THE truth must come out. The government must also get some credit. Who pays the teachers when they are on holidays? I think they knock off at 13h00 and they get bonus plus benefits.
*THERE is an SMS going around that the PS of Education has sent letters informing teachers that money will be deducted from their salaries, come January, for the recently ended strike. What is shocking is that, according to the letter, N$750 will be deducted per day. How is this possible? We don’t earn that much per day. Please be informed that we will go on strike again if you do that and we will not give up easily this time! We are not slaves!
Bouquets and Brickbats
*ACTING PS of Ministry of Environment, please learn the lesson from Ministry of Safety PS on how to procure an official fleet. You have procured Toyota instead of Land cruisers. Worse, you didn’t put in accessories.
*MINISTER of Finance, can you honestly put your hand on your heart and tell all Namibians that Namibia cannot somehow make finance available to increase senior citizens’ pensions to a fair and reasonable amount of at least N$1 500 to allow them to actually stay alive? Ministers get paid more than N$550 per working hour. You should feel ashamed!
*VIVA Tanja Bause, reporting on Simeon Johannes selling brotchens in Olympia. That’s what we want to read. Positive stories that build the spirit of our nation. And The Namibian, provide us our own Tweet space. Viva Namibia!
*I HAVE a question for the MD of Air Namibia. Is it really necessary to seek another government bailout just to increase salaries? Why is the revenue not increasing at the same rate as the expenses? To seek bailouts just shows how incompetent management is. Please let’s apply our minds to situations and not just turn to government for all our problems.
*PRIVATE doctors, your workers are making a lot of money from medical aids for you but we get low salaries. Please government, do something for us. Who can we complain to? How can we cope?
*THE police did not employ you to take care of you but that you serve the people of Namibia. That is why they provide you with the resources like helicopters. Is there anything wrong?
*SALARY increments alone won’t solve the problem of affordability of housing in Windhoek, for example, the problem lies with municipalities who auction or sell residential plots for more than what the majority of public servants could buy with a GRN housing subsidy scheme. City fathers are guilty of making land expensive. Make land affordable.
*IS there anything going right at Home Affairs? Ghost workers, long queues, long waiting periods, no birth certificates at hospitals and no passport books. We want to travel for holidays. President Hifikepunye Pohamba, please assign competent Ministers and Permanent Secretaries to Home Affairs.
Politics
*JOB Amupanda we are still waiting for the outcome of an investigation on the assassination attempt on Jerry Ekandjo. You were the first to make allegations although the Minister has publicly stated it was a normal accident. You are becoming irritating and your remarks border on hatred. You must stop your cheap politicking or did someone promise you a position for making noise?
*AIKONAH! who is fooling who? Swapo Regional Co-ordinators stop being manipulative. We did not put you there to force or dictate all the delegates of the party congress to vote for a particular candidate. Please allow democracy to prevail!
*WHAT kind of a leader does Jerry Ekandjo want to be if he is threatening the people of Khorixas? I want the President to question Ekandjo about what he is saying.
*NAMIBIA needs a president who will be his own man, not handpicked. We don’t want a president who worships his boss and only takes decisions when instructed and who is influenced by his boss.
*SPYL, I beg you to exercise an acceptable degree of maturity in your dealings and the ways you protect your preferred candidate. Watch out for utterances that might cause irreparable damage among the candidates. The direction you are currently facing suggests that we are to see the birth of a new opposition party called SPYL.
In and fromb the Regions
*COUNCILLOR of Omundaungilo and Governor of Ohangwena Region, we need clean water and a gravel road at Epinga village.

*HOW can we make Okongo a clean town? It is too dirty, pigs also contribute, the owners of pigs must take care of their pigs.
