*POVERTY and unemployment are manageable human crises. It’s now time to act!
*NO compensation for squatters. You shacked up illegally, were given notice to remove yet you stayed. You put up shacks in Windhoek while you have houses in the north.

Business as Usual
*THE mind boggles. We now pay for incompetence!
Not a Drop to Drink
*SWAPO must never forget that those poor shebeen owners are the ones who voted for them. Leave the poor people alone. Let them sell their alcohol in order to put something on the table.
*THE police should please stop closing shebeens in Windhoek! We are struggling to put food on the table.
*WHY is government putting strict laws on acquiring liquor licences? How can you demand that a shebeen must have a toilet while that place has no sewerage facilities? Who is failing who? Is that really fair? Who said increased shebeens increase alcohol consumption? Do people get alcohol freely? With 51 per cent unemployment, what do you expect people to do? Even those selling kapana are chased by the City Police! That is oppression of the poor and must be stopped with immediate effect!
*ALL over Namibia it’s just bars, bars, shebeens, shebeens. What vision do we have to build this country? I know it is true that is where you get school fees for your kids, but think how many future leaders you are destroying.
*IF the Government of Namibia wants to permit the shebeens to operate without liquor licences they must also allow the taxis to transport while they are waiting for their transport permits. Let’s treat the nation equally.
Running the Show
*HIS Excellency President Pohamba urges us to promote tourism. In my opinion Namibia Wildlife Resorts, TransNamib and Air Namibia are a joke. The more they get, the more they pocket. Rather help our health system with all the the money that gets lost annually!
*THE Ministry of Finance should introduce programmes on how to train people to fill in the tax return forms. Many of us have no idea of why we need to fill it in and how. Please Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila do something.
Law and Order
*WHAT a week for the legal profession. The Attorney General and two well-known attorneys in the news. The Law Society needs to be seen to sort out these members otherwise the world will perceive Namibia as a 'lawless society’!
*SO, the lawyers are accused of bribery. Why would a man in the street, who earns N$1 000, not be tempted to take bribes? That’s pure greed!
*MR Conradie empowering your people is a noble idea, however empowering your friends and family is corruption - a very simple difference that you and a number of officials in this country fail to understand.
*CONRADIE if you want to empower, then do it for the poor. Not for the rich.
*NOBODY would have found fault with Conradie if, as chairman of MTC, he introduced a BEE requirement for all suppliers to MTC. However to promise a supplier irrespective of merit success with a tender, if such tenderer gives shares to his friend, is corruption/nepotism and not in the interest of MTC! Conradie should resign or be fired as chairperson of MTC with immediate effect!
*CONRADIE sir, who are your people that you will die for? That deal was to benefit only one person, Mrs Damases !
*MR Dirk Conradie you’re wrong. Using your position to boost an already empowered Namibian is simple extortion.
*SHAME on you Dirk Conradie. Do you really want to tell the nation that you acted to help the mass of poor people through BEE or it was an act to further enrich one elite person? We might not be lawyers, but we are not fools.
*I WISH we had more people like Comrade Dirk Conradie. Our government has failed us and I am grateful for this one man’s stance and I would like to say this to him: Comrade thank you and don’t ever be party to a decision that advantages the previously advantaged ever.
In and From the Regions
*I AM concerned about the ongoing stock theft in Grootberg and Anker areas. These thieves are known businessmen, officials and farmers who get themselves permits while they don’t own any cattle. They steal from weekend farmers, who only have workers living on their properties, and sell the cattle at auctions.
*NAMIBIAN traffic officers please make special patrols over the weekends around the bars and clubs to avoid accidents, because that’s a good time to catch those who are drinking and driving.
Education
*EROS Primary School please stop beating up kids. You all know that corporal punishment has long been abolished.
*MS Steenkamp, director of Ohangwena Education Directorate we teachers and learners at Olukula Primary School are suffering. There is no water. Learners are no longer eating soft porridge and teachers are going to school without bathing. Please rescue us.
*PLEASE Ministry of Education and the media go to Groot Aub Primary School and see where our kids are taught. Tents?
*WHY does it take two months to approve an appointed teacher. Please Directorate of Education, specifically Omusati, improve your process. Stop sitting with applications for months. Kids need teachers. Can the Ministry of Education look at this matter please.
Health Matters
*I AM appealing to the Deputy Minister of Health to please re-introduce shoes with rubber soles for the nurses because the shoes they wear now make noise!
Labour Issues
*TO make fluency in Russian a condition of employment in Namibia is clearly aimed at bypassing immigration laws, if not racist. What’s next? Ministry of Home Affairs wake up!
