Reshuffle
*PENDUKENI Iivula Ithana, I know you as a hard worker. Please rearrange the Ministry of Home Affairs. Ensure it delivers according to its mandate. Matron Rosalia Nghidinwa caused us a lot of high blood pressure. We trust that you won’t let us down.
Food for Thought
*IS the overhead train bridge at Avis inspected regularly? That bridge was constructed many years ago and if it is not regularly inspected and properly maintained, then I am afraid, we might be waiting for a disaster. TransNamib, please pay attention to this.
Bouquets and Brickbats
*NBC improve please. You are trying to be the best broadcaster but you are going backwards fast. The voice and the lips of a person in some of your recorded videos are totally out of sync and one wonders what technology you use.
*THE NBC Oshiwambo radio station signal in Opuwo is of poor quality as most of the time the frequency breaks up.
*I WOULD like to thank Tigers’ coach and players for all the good work. Keep it up!
*THE topic was how to give empty promises and fooling. The following are students’ results on salary strike; Basilius Haingura an A*, Abraham Iyambo an A*, David Namwandi an A*, Alfred Ilukena an A* and the other four candidates from Napwu and the Labour Commissioner all got Bs. Enjoy your Christmas holiday and don’t forget to come for registration on January 10 2013.
– From your subject teacher, Mr Coolio.
*I WOULD like to remind the writer of the article ‘Where is the future’ in The Namibian on December 7. Namibia does not depend on donors and that’s why donor funds do not feature anywhere during the tabling of the budget. State House was not built for free as you think. Please get your facts straight and don’t mislead people. Let me remind you that Swapo is here to stay.
*I CAN’T even remember how many times I have sent SMSes to my favourite Namibian newspaper about this Moola Mobile cell phone competition. My SMSes are just received and not even one has been printed. Moola Mobile is making lots of money but is only giving crumbs out. Imagine one out of 10 Namibians playing for just N$5 every day. Do the maths and realise Moola, that we are not stupid. Watch out for Papa Mariba. We are coming soon then you will see what is giving to the nation. Not like you, making yourself rich and the poor even poorer.
*ABOUT Moola. Stop discouraging your customers! How can a person keep SMSing each and every day for three years without winning although there are three chances of winning?
Service Please
*WINDHOEK health inspector, go to Trè Supermarket please. Upon entering, you’ll be ‘blown away’ by the smell of rotten fruit and vegetables. Look at the baskets which go into the trolleys. They are all filthy. It is shocking!
*NEDBANK, please open a branch in Tsumeb. The three commercial banks are always full.
*CITY Police, we are being terrorised day and night by quad bikes and heavy motorbikes on Eros Weg. Where can we report this? We don’t sleep and I’m sure most of these are unlicensed vehicles. This area has become an unofficial race track.
*I WANT to report to the new Minister of Defence the following; soldiers working at Defence headquarters are not disciplined. They carry plastic bags in both hands while in uniform; they do shopping during working hours; there is not a single military police officer at Defence headquarters and the reason is not known. About 20 vehicles are driven to Suiderhof base from Defence headquarters for lunch, Monday to Friday. At Suiderhof base there is a shebeen which is open around the clock. The list is long but please take charge.
*WHERE do I report the noise at Wanaheda police station flats? They play their loud music all day and night long and we can’t sleep! Please help!
Suggestion Box
*THE people who are going to start an independent teachers union please advertise your first meeting in all media channels so that all teachers can attend. After you hold it in Windhoek, also go to all different regions, please.
*PRESIDENT Hifikepunye Pohamba, next time please also allow the Swanu president to address the nation at such an event as the old location commemorations as they played a very crucial role during pre-independence.
*THE Namibian Government must really consider employing well-trained pastors as school counsellors and as Life Skills teachers. Normal teachers are really frustrated with so many formal subject issues!
*CAN the Ministry of Education establish a vocational training centre in the Kunene Region in the near future? It’s pathetic to see potential wondering in the streets.
*NSFAF should pay Unam students’ loans. We are scared that we will not be allowed to register next year because we still owe Unam.
*NBC, try broadcasting teen movies more often and stop broadcasting cartoons all day! NBC isn’t for kids only! Please consider all age groups!
*BARBERSHOPS must buy enough products and clean hair clippers properly after every hair cut. The purpose is just to eliminate germs by killing them. You must also wash the towels used to clean our heads after a cut. Remember, diseases are many nowadays.
Labour
*WE are tired of Pick n Pay. Please help us. We are working everyday of the month, but the salary is very small. We need money!
*THE government must look at poor constables and sergeants in the Namibian Police. Why are those members not allowed to bring their families to the barracks? Senior members too, why?
*INSPECTOR General Sebastian Ndeitunga, the December 2010 intakes are waiting for their salaries to be adjusted to the pay of full constables plus our back pay. Our families are starving and rent and electricity are killing us.
*CAN the, soon to be former Minister of Finance, tell us when the civil servants will get their back pay? Or did she take us for a ride with those false papers that were signed by the Swapo workers union? Or are we waiting for election year, as usual to get increments? If we don’t get it by Christmas she can keep her eight percent, we will strike for more next year. Remember, we too have families to take care of.
*WE workers at Oase Guest Farm are not registered with Social Security and the salary is not enough. Labour inspectors, do your job. We are suffering here.
Politics
*WELCOME back comrade Maleachi Iilonga. I was always feeling that your decision to leave Swapo was unwise, although it is your right. I hope comrades Jeremia Nambinga and Peter Naholo will follow your good example. Viva Swapo!
*ABOUT the article I read in The Namibian about Palestinian people, I would like to say this: Hamas is a terrorist organisation. Americans do not support it. Obama is right. Israel have the right to defend themselves from that radical organisation. Remember David and Goliath?

Response to Previous SMSes Complaint
*BH Company, we are being paid peanuts here. We are inviting a trustworthy union to come and register us. Imagine a person works for nine years and is still getting N$600 or N$1 300 without an increase? No pension, no bonus, no medical aid and we are working for such a big tycoon. Please Ben Hauwanga, we are expecting a bonus this year instead of a party. And please, before you give away your money left, right and centre, first look at your poor hard working employees. Wake up!
Response
The company would like to make it clear that no employer at our company is paid N$600 as we start with N$1300 because we train our recruits to get familiar with the work at hand. We only pay those doing holiday jobs N$600. BH motor spares also contribute N$100 towards all the employees’ pension benefits and they have the right to claim 30 percent of these pension benefits at the end of the year. The plans to introduce medical aid for all our employees is at an advanced stage and will be introduced in due cause.

In and From the Regions
*OTAMANZI council, please do your work. We drink salty water. We have no roads. The primary schools don’t have electricity and no development is happening at all. We are suffering.
