Food for Thought
*NAMIBIA needs change in three core areas; tackling of poverty, unemployment and inequality. I don’t expect Swapo to bring it about as it failed for 22 years.
*LAWMAKERS please put an end to the fictitious house prices in Windhoek and the country at large! For how long will the law allow these ridiculous house prices?
*PLEASE GRN, the nation is crying for affordable housing! It is our country after all. Where should we go?
*I DON’T understand why the government allows the big fat cats like supermarkets to sell everything. Lots of small shops would employ more people than these giants. The rich get richer while opportunities for small business are reduced.
*I DON’T understand how the speeding fines work. The open road fines are heavier then the urban fines where so many pedestrians are bumped daily.
*TALKING of leases; what company is storing their stuff on the playing fields at Centaurus High School? Do they have a contract? With whom do they have a contract? What and who do they pay and where does the money go? This is government and thus taxpayers’ property.
Bouquets and Brickbats
*THANKS to the staff at the ART Clinic in Okuryangava for excellent service and a clean facility. Keep it up and I hope other facilities will follow their example.
– Happy ART client.
*THANK you, Supreme Court for the reversal of Lazarus Shaduka’s sentence. Justice has been served. Now the court truly has shown that no one is above the law. I am pretty sure the public is proud of our Supreme Court.
*ROADS Authority, Ministry of Works or whoever is responsible for the useless Oshakati-Omungwelume gravel road, my brand new car’s windscreen was damaged by a stone from that disgusting road of yours. I wish you could drive your own cars on that road and experience the same fate. You’ve just ruined my festive season!
– From a poor teacher
*MONEY is evil. It blinds people. Why can’t you think about good things which Minister Abraham Iyambo has done for this country from Fisheries to Education? Remember, he just recovered from a stint in hospital recently. Why should you curse people because of money? Be patient and wait!
*CONGRATULATIONS Minister of Regional Local Government and Housing Charles Namoloh, on your official inauguration as Odibo Village headman. May the almighty God bless you and keep you safe.
*I WOULD like to know what the duty of Miss NBC is. We haven’t seen her like in forever. What’s up NBC?
*NAMIBIAN leaders, when will you stop selling us to the Chinese? They are the biggest population in the world. They are desperate for land and resources. Namibia is the right meat for them – huge country, small population blessed with rich resources and half of our population believing that the Chinese mean well with us. Leaders of Namibia, you will never ever beat the Chinese.
*CHIEF of the Namibian Defence Force, happy 60th birthday. As this is your last month in the force I hope you are not going to request for an extension.
*NOW that Nahas Angula is Minister of Defence, NDF will only recruit children of the liberation struggle, just the way he wanted. Elections must come!
*I THINK justice has been done to Lazarus Shaduka. I even think he deserved more than what he got.
*MINISTER of Fisheries, how can you allow fish quota holders to sell us out to the Chinese? Take back their fish quotas and give to established Namibian companies.
Education
*IS it possible for the Ministry of Education to put an institute in Rehoboth because travelling 180km everyday is killing us? Do the math and see how much we spend in a month. Wouldn’t it be cheaper for us if there was a tertiary institute in our town?
– Student from Rehoboth
*UNAM, please pay our refund money. You are closing on December 18 but we have not yet received anything. You only know how to make follow ups when one did not pay!
*I APPRECIATE the idea of building more universities because spreading Unam campuses all over the country is not good.
*UNAM should be careful or their ship will sink. Nothing seems to be done on time. Our refunds are late and we keep being told next week. We are tired, finance department.
Service Please
*NAMPOST, do you know that at Eros Post Office only one teller is on duty at a time? It doesn’t matter if that line stretches outside the building. There was never a day I saw two tellers on duty. Why not? Don’t you care about your customers?
*MTC, why is your service so slow? I have sent a request for GPRS to 1251 on December 11 but I did not yet receive the settings. Are you making connections like that?
Suggestion Box
*MTC, bring back the 500 free SMSes because it’s not fair that others have them and we can’t sign up for them because they aren’t available to us.
*CITY of Windhoek, don’t concentrate on Otjomuise only. Go to low and medium density areas where property owners are moving into municipal land without buying and just fencing off. My neighbour did that.
Labour
*Why does Home Affairs stifle the process of domicile certificates renewal? This purely contravenes the Namibian Constitution. Foreigners supply huge expertise to this country.
*MINISTRY of Labour must please help us who work at bars. We work overtime but our salaries remain low especially during holidays.
Politics
*MCHENRY Venaani is an exciting young man with the potential to truly bring about meaningful change to the boring opposition parties of Namibia! But I am afraid he is using the wrong vehicle to run as President! The DTA now belongs to the dustbin of history and will continue to do a great injustice to the potential of this young man! It is important for all Namibian political parties including Swapo, to start realising that today is about the future. What can they offer towards carving a better future for all Namibians? It will be a big mistake for parties to remain forever held hostage by the past.
*HIDIPO Hamutenya, please step down as RDP president. Let someone else, who can attract more people, be elected president. You do not own the political party. Step down and let RDP flourish rather to die while you are the top leader.
*LET all patriotic Namibians applaud the effort of President Hifikepunye Pohamba at uniting Swapo. I love the new politburo.
*IN politics when people are desperate they use the name of God while they know all the dirty tricks they used and are still using. For sure, one day God will reveal all which is done behind closed doors. Don’t be surprised!
*SO Swapo cheered for its new vice president without rioting and is supposedly part of and responsible for a vibrant democracy. Yeah, right! I’ll believe Swapo’s supposed democratic leanings once we reach the point where they have a proper opposition. Let’s see their reactions then.

In and From the Regions
*OTAMANZI Constituency Councillor, we need water at Omileko. Our animals are dying from thirst as well as ourselves. Please do something.
*SURPRISINGLY there is a lot of construction taking place in Oshakati. Roads are being tarred, a new road is being constructed in the centre of town, the front of the municipal office is beautified and a road near Shali Garage is almost tarred completely. All this happened in a year since I was there but no economic activity took place. Is it because of the new CEO or does it mean that since proclamation of the town, it has not had the right management? I am surprised at the changes that have taken place within a short time. Congrats to the management of Oshakati, particularly the CEO, for bringing about tangible development.
*PLEASE help! The San people of Okakarara Constituency are dying of hunger since September. They are not getting porridge and its holiday and the kids are a lot.
*MUNICIPALITY of Walvis Bay, Veasar Martin Street in Narraville will become a road of death if you do not act and build speed bumps. Motorists see it as a race track and speed on this road. Many requests have been forwarded to you but all in vain. Please act now and prevent any heartache. Otherwise we will hold you accountable if any accidents happen.
