CARNAGE on our roads - when are the Traffic Police going to monitor these heavy duty trucks’ speeds? They travel up to 130 km/h on flat and downhill stretches on the Rehoboth/Republic road when they should be travelling 80km/h!
CAN The Namibian newspaper create a column where they publish the top 10 or 5 of the subjects that draw public reaction the most through published and unpublished SMSes for us regularly please?

THANK you Christof Maletsky for mentioning national days and comrades. I fully agree with you because some of us are forgotten comrades by our own people within the rank and file of Swapo. We sacrificed our schools those days in order to organise the students from the 1984s to the 1989s. We thought of going to school when the land is free; but now we are the ones that suffer most. We still say Swapo for ever and who are the real comrades? Aluta ya continua.

THE election issue at our court has still not been resolved! You should put a clearly visible “counter”on your SMS pages - similar to the doomsday watch - that will remind us on a daily basis that not all is well in the state of Namibia.

THE recent unfortunate incident experienced by Minister (Kazenambo) Kazenambo should encourage our Ministry of Home Affairs to become more service orientated and efficient.
CAN the Ongwediva Trade Fair preparatory committee disclose to the public how much the exhibitors at the Katutura section pay for the rental of the stands. Does the rental go hand in hand with the price the exhibitors charge the public? I can’t believe my eyes - a 450ml cool drink in a can goes for N$13, a spoon of porridge goes for N$10. Is this exhibition or daylight robbery? Is that what we call cost recovery?
GIPF Saga
CAN The Namibian please print the names of all the companies and individuals who received the N$6 million GIFP money that went to waste.
SURELY the first part of a punishment for theft, corruption, damage to property etc is ‘pay back’ and ‘fix’? Those responsible for the GIPF losses could start by selling their fancy cars and houses to repay some of what has been taken from us. It is called being accountable for your actions.
Running the Show
TO all those responsible for running our country and its peoples please acquaint yourselves with present costs of: bread, milk, mealie meal, petrol, taxi fares, meat, fish etc and organise help for: the aged, unemployed, youth, single mothers and the majority of Namibians suffering while you our “leaders” wallow in luxury. The situation is a disgrace.

TO The Namibian team. Just a suggestion: Your SMS page is very popular! Why not print a lot more messages say as a weekend “supplement” or similar issue! The contents are “food” to our people. You know it! Also please consider an interactive question and answer ‘How can we help you?’ page or pages? Namibians are hungry for help, advice and general information!

Health Matters
OUR Government officials do not care about the state of the hospitals as they and their families go to private hospitals with good food and proper care. What a shame our hospitals look like they do.
WHY do staff at Khomasdal Clinic chase patients out into the sun during lunch hour?
NBC
NBC should scrap income estimates that include TV licence revenue because it only ups wrong gross income expectations and this is not healthy for the NBC main sponsor (the taxed licensee). However the NBC board should make sure no job losses will affect its members since we are so far doing well at this advanced stage of extra income generating - our third phase of this kind.

NBC please consider to air on ‘Talk of the Nation’ the pros and cons of sound pollution, its effect on societal values, health aspects, its overall impact.
NBC and One Africa we congratulate you for the updated programmes that you broadcast. But when it comes to the music industry, you are so behind. We love our Namibian music that you present but we also need to know about the music industry in other countries. For example we had KMT and Channel O, but you stopped broadcasting it. Please do something about that. It’s boring not knowing what’s happening outside our country.
City Fathers Please
THE Ithana / Gloudina saga proves once again that the City of Windhoek does not use common sense when renaming Windhoek’s streets. It also proves Swapo’s influence on City of Windhoek.
CITY of Windhoek councillors have not just failed the people, but they have failed the organisation. Please people let’s go and vote for other councillors who will contribute to our wellbeing. The councillors are enriching themselves while the city spends a lot of money on their own wellbeing. Some councillors have held office for longer than 10 years yet are unable to cater for the people.

Education
DON’T we have more than one university in other SADC states? What is wrong with Namibia having more than one university? Dr (Abraham) Iyambo review the act on Higher Education.
MINISTER of Education what is the role of Regional Examination Officials in education? All stakeholders are invited to the National Conference on Education Standards scheduled from 6-9 September 2010. See the program from PQA. We want feedback on this issue. Thank you.
MINISTER of Education please come to our rescue at Unam regarding our refunds. Not all of us stay on campus and thus have different needs regarding transport and accommodation. Further not all of us want to buy books at Unam’s book store or transfer a lot of money to the copy centre. When we signed our contracts there was no talk of some money going back to the Ministry. We feel that since the contract is between individual students and the Ministry we should be given a say too. It’s the students who are going to pay back the loan after all.
HOW will it help to register one’s child on time for placements in schools? There will still be kids left out if there are no enough classrooms.
WHY can’t communication be introduced in schools like any other subject such as entrepreneurship etc?

NATIS Rundu office. Why are so many made to return when they want to register for their learner’s licence. Each time you go there they say it is fully booked with 42 people per day. Why don’t you employ two more testing officers to avoid any inconvenience.
I TOTALLY agree with the speech delivered by Dr Hoze Riruako during the Aminuis Agricultural Show. No 1 you touched education, 2) livestock marketing, 3) business opportunities in Aminuis. A million thanks to you Dr Riruako you are an eye opener.

THERE is surely a bleak future for Namibian soccer and other sports for some years to come. Our own Brave Warriors’ performance cannot even match the women’s soccer teams from Asia! Please MYNSSC (under Kazenambo Kazenambo) develop sports facilities in rural areas as this in the long run will ensure truly national representation in all sport codes other than the current Khomas region representing Namibian sport codes at international level with poor results year in year out.

WHY do they not upgrade busy roads to double lanes? Like the Ondangwa – Oshakati, Rehoboth - Windhoek - Okahandja and Walvis - Swakop roads.

THERE’S a booklet in The Namibian about rape in marriage. I’m sure 95 per cent if not 100 per cent are repeatedly raped. But I know because of fear for our lives and that of leaving our kids behind, many of us will never report it

EFFICIENCY in banking services is declining. Standard Bank ATMs in Oshakati area were out of order from July 31 while small branches were without stationery. Do you ever plan for month ends?
Labour Issues
HOW come that a person just entering a post is paid more than others who have been in the same post for years. I have been a principal for seven years and newly appointed principals are paid more than me. Ministry of Education do something.
Sporting
WE must support rugby and basketball in Namibia especially in the rural areas, cricket and volleyball to empower the youth.
PLEASE can NFA arrange a live debate show on NBC TV and radio for the NFA presidential candidates.
MR Kelly Nghixulifwa we need a programme on NBC that can articulate boxing issues in the country. Invite the stakeholders in please. Just like soccer and rugby!
