Food for Thought
* NAMIBIANS let’s smell the coffee and admit that we need help with our education system. Maths and science should be a must for all the learners as of Grade 8, we really need to start making choices for our future generation. Vision 2030 is around the corner and I am getting worried about the unemployment rate in Namibia.

Bouquets and Brickbats
* I DISAGREE with the topic that Gobabis is a success story. A one-bedroom house is not decent housing. The Government should do something better. Why can’t the town avail land to NHE or Swabou like in northern towns? Most GRN workers are from the north and don’t want to retire here. How many times does one buy and sell a house? When will one own a house? Or should we rent until death? CU 3 camp has been demolished and where are the houses to rent? That is not fair.

* SO disappointing that Namibia is not in the top 10 countries with parliaments with the highest percentages of women members, but respect to Rwanda and Angola.
– Tim, Eros
* BRAVO! To The Namibian for the article dated 22/2/10, read “Govt cracks down on foreign SMEs”. Foreign medical practitioners, let’s keep them in the public sector. Lay down laws to ban them from opening private clinics.
– Citizen of Namibia
* IT is a shock to Namibia: The film’Where Others Wavered’ has cost you, the taxpayer, a staggering N$220.3 million. How can one person cause our economy to bleed so profusely over the years? Let us pray to God to save our motherland now.
The Right Note
* I DON’T see why it is a problem that Gazza and The Dogg are attending or performing at Swapo rallies. The spectators who come to watch The Dogg or Gazza at their shows are all from different political backgrounds and you will find us dancing to the tune of the songs regardless of our politics. Why make a big issue out of it?
* GAZZA and The Dogg have the right to belong to political parties of their choice. For those who are not happy with them, just cover your eyes tightly.
* THE Dogg and Gazza, it’s good to work together and not fight. Thanks for attending the SYPL CC and representing us young people.
Politics
* THE most prominent of our youth leaders in the Hardap Swapo Party Youth League have now been suspended. What is wrong with (Elijah) Ngurare and company? Does he think eliminating our leaders will make a dent where? We don’t need to be SPYL members to make a difference in our region. We are children of Hardap and with or without SPYL we will exist.
* IS the Swapo Youth League now Ngurare’s private company to hire and fire anyone challenging him? JJ Herero is masters’ holder and a deputy director at HRC. What has he to lose? Continue to study my son so we in South can have better doctorates from people like you.
* ALWAYS ready to assist all Namibians regardless of political affiliation? Please Mr President, people are being fired if suspected of being RDP.
* I KNOW English is not our mother tongue. Can some of our political representatives please improve their reading and speaking proficiency. It is embarrassing.
* WELL done Honourable Kazenambo. Those of us who were strong Swapos inside could express ourselves without fear. It is a positive challenge to ex-internal leaders to speak out against politics of fear, victimisation, name-calling. We feel left out while we kept the fire burning before Independence.
Business as Usual
* IT is very disappointing to hear that the Swapo Government is realising now that there is unfair competition between Namibian and foreign (Chinese) investors while the Chinese government has taken over the small, medium and big business from our people. I think the former president must explain to the nation the deal Swapo had with the Chinese before Independence that justifies this Chinese invasion if not neo-colonialism.
* WHY does the Minister of Trade need the Chinese government to advise him that ‘Namibian laws should be allowed to run their course concerning any Chinese citizen engaged in illegal practices’? Is this not self evident and applicable to anyone?
* IT is embarrassing to hear Dr (Hage) Geingob saying that he will invoke provisions in the existing Foreign Investment Act to force all foreigners to first get his permission before they start any form of retail business in Namibia. Does this mean that all this Chinese are operating illegally and nothing is done? Please don’t tell me he is next in line to become the next president.
* MR Geingob, do you really expect us Namibians to believe you are going to clamp down on the North Koreans and the Chinese? I have just travelled to the north, and quite frankly there are so many of them there, I hardly saw a local!
The Hand that Feeds
* IS it not racial discrimination for one to say: “The first people to lose their land must be some of these arrogant Germans”. So is the proposal from the Secretary General of the Swapo-affiliated NUNW who proposed that Chapter 3 of the Constitution be amended to particularly ensure that German-speaking Namibians lose their land. This sounds like a statement once coined in Zimbabwe against the English-speaking nationals. With a risky statement like this coming from SG of the ruling party-affiliated Union, only God knows where Namibia is heading. God save our country: yesterday it was the English to be hammered in their heads, today it is Germans whose land is to be grabbed, tomorrow might be the Afrikaners and Coloureds!!
* DOES Mr Kaaronda know about the money the German government is pumping into Namibia? We must first stop asking them money. I think Mr Kaaronda has money to develop our country.
* KAARONDA, this is not a dictator’s country, everyone has the freedom to move. I recommend Zimbabwe for you. Your warped thoughts fit there the best!
Running the Show
* I’VE read in a newspaper that ‘Swapo wants to empower the youth’. How can it be true? They have removed and are still removing all subjects which could have empowered us with the necessary skills.
* I WANT to ask the Ministry of Agriculture how long must a person wait to receive his certificate after training? We finished our training in 2008.
In and From the Regions
* WHAT is happening to Grootfontein Municipality? Why is Shoprite and Pick n Pay not opening up in this town? Community of G-town please let’s stand together and push for this. For how long will we be driving 60 km to Tsumeb to buy groceries?
* OMUSATI Governor Comrade Sacky Kayone we need electricity at Omokuti just 100 metres from DAPP.
* SCRAP the Traditional Authority Act and empower the regions to build one Namibia.
* I AM a resident of Omega 1 in West Caprivi, can our Mukwe councillor think of us getting electricity please. A lack of electricity is hampering the development of the village. If the electricity comes it will make a difference in our lives, also at the school.
* WHY is it that come voting time, the media carries stories of development to be done in the whole of the country where elections take place but after voting nothing happens? When will the road from Omuntele to Onakazizi clinic be built? Aren’t we also part of the country?

Health Matters
* ALLOW me to express views on behalf of pregnant women. When a woman is in labour she needs the support of her family, especially young girls who are first time moms. Why don’t the nurses allow at least one family member to go in the birth room with the girl?
City Fathers Please
* CITY of Windhoek would you be so kind and cut the bushes (trees) in front of our houses, criminals are hiding there especially Sando Street in Rocky Crest.
NBC
* WOULD the NBC please rebroadcast last week’s One on One show !
* SHAME on RDP, attempting to ban NBC from covering their rally? Just for them to get something to take to the High Court at the end of the Okahandja by-election?
* MISA Namibia where are you? Who is fooling who now? Is it Swapo that hates the media or RDP? We as Namibians want to see your action against RDP and its leadership to protect our national radio.
– Noah
* MR (Rudolph) Kamburona you are not politically mature. You better go back to the school of politics.
And Justice for All
* RULING party affiliated trade unions and some individuals must count their words, uphold and respect the law, before challenging and criticising it and judgments handed down, as nobody is above the law or otherwise face the music.

Sporting
Blue Waters in action
* BLUE Waters supporters please let us fill the stadiums with blue/white colours and stand behind Lucky and the boys. To the management thanks a lot for managing to get a sponsor for us.

Please Help.
* THE Namibian please help me: The topic ‘What inhibits performance in the public service of Namibia’ appeared in The Namibian newspaper of 11.12.09. On which page is it? I got it on the Internet and the page number is not provided.
– The article you are referring to is an opinion piece by Vincent Mwange that appeared on page 8 on December 11, 2009.

Service Please
* PUPKEWITZ Megabuild may mix paint in 10 minutes flat, but whether the mix of separate orders for the same colour will match, that is the question. It’s been more than than three years and they haven’t yet done anything to rectify the mistake they made with my order. Perhaps Mr Harold will read this and contact me 081-129-6996.
