Food for Thought
* WHAT the heck? Politicos can rave on about short skirts and morality, and no one gives a hoot. Yet, let it be heard on private morning radio and all hell breaks loose. Mixed morality or mixed morals?
The Right Note
* I FELT proud seeing my two boys The Dogg and Gazza together in yesterday’s paper and don’t know why people complain of them performing at a Swapo rally. It’s their job and they need cash like anybody. Keep it up.
– Peekay
* IF Gazza and The Dogg are Namibian citizens, then they have the right to participate in political activity of their choice, this is in accordance with article 17 (1) of our own Constitution. And article 21 (e) of the said constitution. NB: We all have equal opportunity!
* I DON’T agree with the writer who is against Gazza and The Dogg performing at the Swapo rallies. I am also not a Swapo supporter but I will continue supporting Gazza and The Dogg. Both artists were there to address issues that affect the youth regardless of what party you belong to. If you won’t support him (Gazza), that’s your problem as I am going to support him. The other thing you overlooked is when Gazza performs at his shows he doesn’t sing about Swapo, he entertains us with his songs that are not politically based.
* NOW that the SPYL continues to use The Dogg and Gazza, can they also please try to advise the pair to solve their issues. This will also bring peace amongst the youth who follow them. The SPYL should not only use them for the benefit of our party, Swapo.

Bouquets and Brickbats
* I AM a supporter of Air Namibia, but the plane we flew back in on Sunday from Johannesburg was terrible, worn out brakes, plane was noisy and in a terrible state. Do something about your airplanes if you want to keep and increase your clients.
* IT’S a commendable gesture undertaken by our musicians and the private sector to collect funds for aid to Haiti, but it would have been better starting here at home since we have orphans and hunger-driven inhabitants without food and shelter roaming around streets and bridges during this rainy season!
– Kanku Musambani, Walvis Bay
* WHAT’S the hype about helping the people in Haiti when your own Namibian people are in need of aid, food, water, medicine and housing. Take a look at your own before aiming to help abroad.
– EWJ
* NOTICEABLE in the Namibian media, The Namibian included, is the reckless mispelling of persons’ names by journalists in articles. Is this norm curable?
Politics
* JUST asking – When is tribalism not tribalism?
– Concerned citizen.
* MR (Evilastus) Kaaronda should know that Swapo does not own people. People own themselves. Swapo succeeded because of foreign support. If there are organisations which are in favour of opposition parties, let them give that support. Someone’s meat is someone else’s poison. Continue with your Swapo ideologies, we will also continue with ours.
* WHY is Swapo fond of transporting members from other towns when they hold rallies, especially when the President or the former President is addressing the rally? Don’t they trust their support base in those towns or what is their problem? They cause traffic jams on the roads between Windhoek and Okahandja and Windhoek and Otjiwarongo and they are endangering people’s lives.
* WHO is (Ben) Mulongeni and (Asser) Ntinda trying to fool?
In and From the Regions
* WHY is the Otjiwarongo Constituency Office located in town when it should be located closer to the community that needs it most. The office is not functional where it is currently located. When does the Regional Councillor visit his constituency? I have not seen him for the past four years apart from when he was campaigning to be elected.
–Angry inhabitant.
* MARIENTAL will have a Woermann Brock in the near future. Shoprite is already doing business there. What is the problem with Keetmanshoop?
Health Matters
* TO the person who wrote the SMS requesting Mr Richard Kamwi to recruit Grade 10 failures as nurses, he does not know what he is talking about. He said in the old days people went to study nursing after Grade 10. Please we are not in old days, we are in 2010 now. Then also request the Ministry of Education to recruit teachers with Grade 10, as it was in the past. Before we talk we must think, can someone go to Unam with Grade 10? Nurses are not being plucked from the streets. If you want your kids to be nurses tell them to study hard at school.Thanks.
General
* PLEASE bring GTV back. It is the main reason most houses in Katutura have a satellite dish! Please bring it back, not all of its channels are on DStv.
* WHEN did artist John Ndevasia Muafangejo die? Date and year please.
* VISION 2030 is now Vision 3020.
Be Careful
* HELLO Namibians let me inform you against this cruise ship employment. Don’t even try to apply for those people are just making money out of the postal orders. Contact me at 081-322-1323.
Labour Issues
* NAMIBIA Airports Company needs a permanent CEO. The whole business is at a standstill. Employees have been working for four years but are not registered with GIPF. You are on the same job grade as your colleagues, who earn more than you simply because you don’t have a family member at the head office. How can these guys be allowed to operate like this?
* NAMPOL, why is the recruitment taking so long? This delay is blocking us from upgrading and it’s turning us into street kids. Please we have waited for so long.
* CONTRACT workers. NamPost has people working there for one and more years. Why use people if you can’t recruit them permanently? What is the management and the union doing? Can the Government do something about this?
* ORGANISATIONS with unqualified top management: When you are a new graduate entering the market you will find out that top management does not always have qualifications. If they hire you they start underpaying you, yet you are the one bringing in new ideas. When you demand a salary increment all you hear is we don’t consider qualifications. My question is, why don’t they take someone who doesn’t have a qualification. Please such organisations should consider qualifications else graduates will not add value to the company as expected.
* NANTU will you please help the teachers who are studying with IOL. Their study loans have become cash loans where with a course for N8 000 you end up paying more than N$19 000. We were not even informed that we have to pay about N$1000 for a failed subject while they have already started deducting from our salaries as well as N$100 for Internet services we don’t get.
– Teacher!
* PLEASE! We are tired! Yes, we do understand that we must respect heads of stations (magistrates) but some of them are treating some staff members very badly. Please Ministry of Justice investigate!
Sporting
* I WOULD like to hear from the NPL and NFA as to what they have been doing in terms of the referees department? Because each and every day, after a league match, you hear teams complaining about bad refereeing, yet the NFA and the NPL are still quiet. Why?
* THANKS to the NFA for starting the First Division football but please encourage the referees to train, they are unfit.
* A BRITISH company selling stab proof vests for the World Cup must be stopped as this is scaring fans and visitors to RSA.
– North
ACC Alert
* INVESTIGATE why there is no-one acting as a CEO at Maltahohe Village Council.
* THE ACC must investigate the Namibian Prison Service. The S&T money is apparently finished for court escorts, Windhoek Prison specifically.
* IS it not unfair that in Okahandja only certain people were invited to hand in CVs for work on the airfield or the brewery? This was not advertised. There is still a lot of unemployment in the town. Please rethink and consider us sitting at home
NBC
* NBC what is the purpose of having two NBC News logos on the left of the TV screen and on the right top during news? When a person appears his/her name cannot be read/seen clearly. My advice is leave only one NBC News on the right top side of the screen.
– Ivan
* NBC: racism burns on the fuel of our own inferiority complex. NBC stop fooling this nation!
Service Please
* SHOPRITE Rundu branch keeps expired stuff on their shelves. I recently bought a packet of ‘vermufde’ garlic rolls on February 21. This is a health risk to the community at large !
* ONDANGWA FNB is not giving service. I just went in for statement but most of the printers were out of order. Management please look into this.
