Food for Thought
* THE Ministry wants teachers in Khomas to work until 16h00. Good news, then I don’t have to work until 22h00 like I usually do. Are we getting overtime for all weekends spent working?

Bouquets and Brickbats
* WE are well known for criticising, but today I would like to take my hat off to Ongwediva Medi Park for the quality service they rendered to me. Starting at the reception and coming to the nursing staff, they became our family and friends away from home. They made us feel comfortable although we were in pain. I was very impressed. God bless you all.
* I SALUTE Jonathan Beukes on his fantastic and truthful article. (The Namibian February 16) I hope our leaders have read the papers. Keep it up Mr Beukes!
* THANKS Jonathan Beukes for a great and very true article in the February 16 issue. Well written!
* WOW! I found ‘Loving your enemies’ very rewarding and enriching. Congratulations Father Katenda.
* THE Internet news in Oshiwambo never has pictures. Can The Namibian please do something about it, it makes our news boring to read.
* JOURNALISTS need to be objective. You cannot report a paltry 150 people attended a meeting at Oshetu no1 but your picture of the event says something different.
Politics
* PRESIDENT (Hifikepunye) Pohamba you owe the Namibian nation an explanation come 21 March. How come our Swapo goverment is doing well and yet we have 51 per cent unemployment? Where did we do wrong? I will never waver in my support and go to another political party because Swapo is my party. But Comrade there is something wrong, unemployment is too high and we cannot just cover it up with singing only. Yes we have peace and stability. That is not enough Comrade. What will we tell the nation come 2030?
* I TRULY don’t get it. Our country has a small population, many valuable resources and we are still not starving, but we don’t deserve to live in poverty. Please reduce the number of political parties. They are many for a small population. Let’s unite, share power and eliminate poverty by understanding each other for our country’s sake.

Education
* WHEN are we getting a technical school for Grade 10 drop-outs in Keetmanshoop or the Karas Region?
– POH.
* WHO’S to interview who? Is it really in line with ministerial policy in education for HoDs to be interviewed by inspectors of education? What about cluster head principals and other principals? Please newsdesk we need a response to this.
– Concerned
* WHAT is going on. Minister of Education, Concordia has been without electricity for almost a week now. And we pay school fees every term.
General
* WHY not close down all shebeens and help the communities get other kinds of income generating projects like selling groceries and other things? We can’t make money by killing others.
– EC
* I GAVE a lift to 10 kids going to Mix. Imagine these kids are walking 20 km to and from Windhoek.
City Fathers Please...
* City Police would you please drive through Outapi Street in Havana informal settlement and check out the noise from the shebeens in that street at night. Juke boxes are too loud and the owners of the so-called shebeens don’t even have control over them. Act please and be the voice of the voiceless. Sometimes they even close very late. Learners and students are complaining of this as well.

In and From the Regions
* MUNICIPALITY of Okahandja or Okahandja Police, whose job is it to stop the noise in town? We can’t sleep because of men or priests in budget homes. Since January 10, they pray in the early hours from five to past six using speakers and a mike. Please we want to sleep. Do something!
* KEETMANSHOOP Natis office, it has been almost a year now that your ‘machines’ have been broken. We want to be tested and get our licences. Please do something.
– Frustrated
* SWAKOPMUND Municipality, we residents are suffering from exorbitant rent prices, even Windhoek has become cheaper than Swakop. Why are you not servicing the available land. You know that a lot of mines are opening in Erongo and that there will be an influx of people seeking jobs. Can you tell us when you will service and sell plots to the low income people. Please act urgently to save us.
Meant for government business
* I AM annoyed at seeing GRN vehicles parked at social public drinking places (shebeens, cars, casinos). Reckless driving comes along with it. Please ministries take preventive measures, especially here in my home town Rundu.
– L Lucas
* TSUMEB Municipality, the November 2009 elections are over and yet Swapo campaign material, which was erected by municipal workers, is still visible all over the town. Please order the removal of these materials with immediate effect to show your impartiality towards other political parties.
* MR Holger Sircoulomb would you please expand your transmission to the Otjimbingwe area. Thank you so much in advance!
– One Africa viewer in need!
* WHEN is the former Hereroland ever going to get tarred roads? People are talking about the South as if it is the only place neglected by our new government. Is it due to tribal politics like (Kazenambo) Kazenambo mentioned that our roads are considered unimportant? How can our Government develop roads leading in one direction only? Please split the cake into different pieces than rather than taking it all to the north. How long must our people die in the road accidents or properties get damaged? Don’t we all pay tax and work for the development of our country?
* NHE why are you no longer sending monthly statements? I have no idea of the status of my account with you.
– Moowa, Katima Mulilo
Labour Issues
* WOULD the Kavango Regional director explain to us what happened to most of the literacy promoters’ payments/cheques because some of us haven’t received our cheques for last year and we haven’t had any explanation about how long we will be kept waiting.
* UNEMPLOYMENT = 50 per cent, but still some big companies keep temps for more than three years without employing us. Government please help!!
* NAFAU, what is going on with Aranos abattoir case?
– Drusilla
Service Please
* DO the staff at NHE assigned to process house transfers really work? I’ve been waiting almost three years now for my house to be transferred into my name. The lawyers can’t do anything because NHE isn’t doing its work. Please help.
– Moedeloos!
* NANDO’S Independence Avenue management - take the prego steak roll option off your menu. Once every week for the past four weeks, your staff told me there aren’t any beef pregos. While you are at it, please investigate whether you actually have stock, or whether your staffers are just too lazy to prepare the meal for a hungry, paying customer.

* SOMEONE is not doing his/her job at the Ministry of Finance. I registered my child in October 2008 for medical aid benefits, but up until now my card has not been printed. When I enquire, no-one knows what went wrong. Now my child is being denied health care because the service providers are refusing the letter from Finance.
* WOERMANN BROCK Hyper, Khomasdal must train their staff, especially those working at tills and as supervisors, in customer service.
– Woermann Brock has set up a Customer Input Desk to deal with issues like this. Contact them on Windhoek (061) 376 100 . Or e-mail: feedback@woermannbrock.com

Taxi Talk
* I DO not understand about taxis in Windhoek. Some have got numbers, but some are not even registered. But the public is using these cars, for example, at Fruit and Veg City, KFC and at Unam. Where are the traffic officers or City Police?
ACC Alert
* ACC please investigate. Those in charge of accommodation at Katutura State Hospital are denying students and nurses accommodation while this is (allegedly) being rented to outsiders for one or two nights.
Please Help
* DEAR editor can you not make this souvenir paper for 88 - 89 for us to buy?
– WE are working on making available earlier editions and will inform you in due course.
– Newsdesk
* DOES anyone know where the recycling station that used to be in the Klein Windhoek Woermann Brock car park has gone? And, is it coming back? We need it!
* CAN anybody help out there ? I am looking for whole dried peas not split peas. I will e- mail a genuine English fish and chip secret mushy pea recipe to finder. I am at the coast where supermarkets don’t care.
