Food for Thought
* THANK you! Oh, yes, that’s true: the Ministry of Education must take the blame for all failures and the high unemployment rate because of its policy of transfer!
Bouquets and Brickbats
* QUOTE Minister (Erkki) Nghimtina on the Deputy Prime Minister in Kaokoland: “If all politicians were hands-on like Dr (Libertina) Amathila, the socio-economic face of Namibia would have changed. We politicians love talking and talking but she is a practical somebody. She got services for our most disadvantaged communities”.
– Elia
* TRAFFIC officers -Tsumeb. As a taxi driver, I am really proud of you as the law enforcement agency to root out illegal taxis and unauthorised drivers. Please do these operations often because when you stop, they start again. I suggest that repeat offenders get serious punishment for ignoring the law. Keep up the good work!
* NAMIBIA Institute of Pathology, please be serious when sending blood test result. I received my statement with the name of another person but the same surname. Our results are confidential.
Politics
* THE people must know that it’s their constitutional right to hold politicians accountable for the fulfilment of their promises and the mandate given in principle.
– BAB, Karas!
* BITING the Germans shows our real character. It displays our twisted understanding of democracy and opens up our gene code for scrutinising better than any scientist can do it. Shame on us!
* I AM very disappointed by our musicians especially The Dogg and Gazza for being used in political activities of Swapo Party in Okahandja etc. Nascam please get your house in order because we believe music is a universal language and please stop politicising everything!
* TO Gazza and the dog, don’t mix business with politics. What will you do if one day Swapo loses?
* GAZZA, I am a GMP fan. Choose if you are musician or politician, I am not Swapo but I support you. Some of us from other parties will not support you again.
– Mike
* PLEASE don’t get too excited with the Kazenambo interview. NBC introduced that much talked about ‘strictly casual’ TV reality show when Swapo realised that the nation is bored watching and listening to the conventional, primitive and boring glorification of Swapo. Swapo needs a new face and their think tank thought this reality show would restore their reputation. Kazenambo has been carefully selected to be a pioneer. Be ready for the more Swapo this and Swapo that interviews. Away with their modernised propaganda!
– Tashiliekunde
* WAS the recent interview on NBC with (Kazenambo) Kazenambo aimed at informing the Vice President of Swapo that he is not going to be the next president of Namibia?
– Karas
* DR (Ben) Mulongeni and (Kazenambo) Kazenambo are two Swapo individuals with different ideologies. One is minister and the other is a sacked director general. The question is, who is most typical Swapo of the two? Ms Lister and your political perspective, where do you draw the line?
Running the Show
* OFFICE of the Prime Minister: Why are you not responding to our request on regrading the clerk levels in the Public Service as you do with others like human resources practitioners, accountants and others? We want transparency in the public service.
In and From the Regions
* PRESIDENT (Hifikepunye) Pohamba should come to Okahandja more often because then the dirty town would get cleaned more often! So feel most welcome Sir!
* HON Bishop (Zephania) Kameeta what are your plans for the old Paulinum in Otjimbingwe? The buildings are in a poor condition and could reach a state of “no repair “ if not rescued! Please do something before it’s late!
– EMK
* SOME police officers at the Kuisebmond police station next to the Walvis Bay municipality are not very polite and have no idea on how to work with people! It is every Namibian citizen’s democratic right to receive assistance from Nampol but people are not being helped as they should be. Help the nation to receive the justice they deserve and don’t turn a blind eye.
* WHY can’t the Keetmans Municipality put rules in place to first obtain a safety helmet for cyclists before buying a bicycle.
* JA Nel High School headmaster your school yard looks awful. Can’t you get some prison inmates to sort out the school yard.
– Eyesore, Keetmanshoop
* I DON’T see what the counsellour of Guinas Mr Gomagab is doing for Oshivelo Village. There is no development at all, no ATM services, no open market, no food and grocery stores nothing. Please help.
– From the forgotten community.
* SOME of the teachers of Neyuva Combined School in Kavango Region have been using store rooms as accommodation for several years. Is it allowed? No.
Education
* IT seems there is a stand-off between NTA and the instructors from the government VTCs. The instructors in the VTCs are so far, still employees of the Ministry of Education. After having been seconded to NTA without additional benefits, their rights are already being trampled upon, it seems. While the head office staff members are travelling happily with their full subsistence allowance, the instructors are allowed only N$120 for accommodation and N$100 for meals per day. If NTA is discriminating against instructors now, what will happen about their positions which are going to be advertised? How are they going to survive the meagre subsistence allowance, which is incomparable to that of government and the current NTA staff members?
* PLEASE Polytechnic of Namibia, when are you going to offer criminal justice policing through distance learning. There are a lot of people out there waiting for this course. Currently people can only do it full time and part time. Some of us don’t have families in Windhoek and often our work cannot release all of us to come and sit for it there. Please can you assist us, we have been waiting since police science is being phased out.
* MINISTRY of Education! When are we going to get teaching posts especially maths and science teachers. W are tired of being unemployed, we are qualified.
* THE MOE must set a pass mark for Grade12 because students pass but than they are not qualifying for tertiary education because the institutions require 25 points in five subjects.
City Fathers Please...
* MS Liz SIBINDE, City of Windhoek. The people in Benz Street also pay rates and taxes. Why is the pavement in that area never cleaned nor cleared of grass, etc?
General
* I DON’T know wether anybody has observed that. There are CCTV cameras at Deli Square.
* CAN the Bank of Namibia please talk to Botswana and South Africa to stop refusing our bank notes. Citizens of those countries can purchase freely with their notes within Namibian borders.
– Richard Madi, Gobabis.
Crime and Punishment
Rather confiscate illegal firearms
* IT is better to confiscate all illegal fire arms rather than to make licencing legistration strict!
– OJ
Health
* THE Ministry of Health and Social Services is complaining about how under staffed the hospitals are. They bring foreigners to work in our hospitals while the country has enough Grade 10 learners who pray for a chance to go and study nursing. Dr Kamwi what is wrong? Most of the nurses in the old days only went to school until Grade 10 and they did an excellent job. Give our kids a chance please.
* THERE is much to be done to turn around health in Namibia. Minister (Richard Kamwi) please there have been complaints about your infrastructure for a long time. Do something about it! Services can’t be of quality without it.
* I REQUEST the Ministry of Health to conduct an investigation or survey on the number of men and women from age of 65 and above suffering or dead due to prostate, uterus and breast cancer in Namibia. There are many old men with inserted urinary catheters or bags because they are unable to urinate on their own in the north central regions. I think something must be done to control and prevent further incursion and also to help people are state patients who are suffering now.
* PLEASE Katutura Hospital management, can you provide two maternity wards one for those in labour and the other for those on monitoring. Its really disturbing for those not in labour.
NBC
* THE NBC should give NPL soccer results on the day when games are played and not only on Sundays. On Saturdays it give just EPL results.
* NBC! The youth movie: ‘Stand for love’ was enjoyable. Find us one more please.
– Naihule, Okahao
