* 1) JOB well done to madam Gwen and her team for telling it as it is for the past 24 years. (2) Thanking Christof Maletsky for the article about Sister Hildegaardt and those less fortunate people in our society. (3) Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana should withdraw her hate speech against Gwen and strive for reconciliation and nation building as a leader.

* THE selfish and unpatriotic behaviour of Namibian banks must not be left unchallenged. They are already charging us the clients exorbitant ‘service’ fees on top of the high interest rates. Borrowing money from South Africa instead of locally available facilities is not only criminal, but tantamount to sabotage of the local economy. It is about time our banks respect the authority and wisdom of the Bank of Namibia.
* IS there an organisation or body that regulates the exorbitant amounts charged by landlords in rent? We can’t afford to stay anywhere!

* LEARNERS cannot perform well at Okaukuejo PS because of the four shebeens in front of the classrooms that are busy 24 hours a day. Bad results then the teachers are not doing their work. Is it true?
* JUST to confirm the SMS of Monday about problems of retired teachers in Kavango region. A former well-known school headmaster, Michael Sirongo, at Mukeke village, near Tondoro, nicknamed Dingana, died last month without having received his pension money. He retired last year. Mr Ankama, PS of Education, please help the situation in Rundu. Why do people have to wait so long for money they had toiled for? It’s theirs, Sir.

Politics
* MY fellow countrymen and women of all races. Over the past several weeks we seem angered by what was reported as bordering on racial hatred attributed to some leaders of our Mighty Swapo Party. This is an election year and tempers are bound to flare rightly or wrongly. Some opposition parties will try to jump on this bandwagon to score cheap political points. In my opinion, it cannot be accurate that Swapo leaders would exhibit racial hatred towards our Aunt Lister or for that matter all whites in Namibia or elsewhere. After all reconciliation was introduced to Namibia by Swapo. I hope also that some of our white compatriots who call their employees baboons or are mistreated would invoke the same anger we now unleash at the alleged utterances by some Swapo leaders. I would appeal for caution in our response and for commonsense to prevail and let us not be too emotional. Many may not agree with me, but as for me all Namibians, have lived in harmony for nearly 20 years under the Swapo Party government wherein HE Dr Sam Nujoma was Founding President and Cde Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana as Minister in different capacities. These leaders and Swapo do not judge a Namibian on the basis of race or tribe but on the basis of the content of each individual Namibian, black or white.
– Dr Elijah Ngurare, Windhoek
* MINISTER of Justice you cannot say that Gwen Lister is an RDP member, just because she is not supporting Swapo you have to blame her for everything. Well I say I support her in everything she does, Gwen Lister I salute you all the way. Keep up the good work.
– S Hendjala, Okahandja
* IT is time that President Pohamba publicly reprimands Mr Nujoma and Mrs Ithana for their utterances. They are destroying years of nation building. Do it now.
* LEAVE the whites and Gwen Lister alone, please, they didn’t start this “killing of whites” the problem is by you leaders of today! Start by looking for the Avid and Lameck money. Do something fruitful, leave this racial issue now please Minister Iivula-Ithana?
* THIS goes to JM Pendukeni. Remembered what HH said after leaving Swapo. That “Swapo has lost its vision”! It is getting clearer as each day passes by that Swapo as the liberation movement is not the same as today’s Swapo Party! Namibia belongs to all those who live in it! For your information: newspaper headlines are designed in such a way to attract customers! Not chanting old communist slogans such as ‘viva comrade’, ‘comrade president said’, etc. Lister, keep on telling us like it is! Swapo must tell the people why they slumped our nation into poverty, hunger, corruption and unemployment! Down with hate speeches, no wonder why there are no ‘whites’ in Swapo! Because they cannot stand to be insulted every day!
* I HAVE never read about Pendukeni Ithana addressing issues regarding the well-being of the people of this country. She’s always attacking either a party or an individual. Please the war was over 20 years ago.
* MINISTER Pendukeni Ithana, how do you want people to be positive towards Swapo and its leadership if people like you never say positive things?
* I AM an English volunteer working in Windhoek for little to help Namibia. I supported our Swapo comrades in exile in the UK in the eighties and I raised funds for the struggle. I am sick to my stomach with reading these anti-white racist comments by those whom I understood to be comrades. Racism is the product of fear and ignorance. Can we now have talk of reconciliation or am I really going to be beaten with hammers as my reward for my small part in the struggle!
* MADAM Ithana, it is your intolerance and distaste for true democracy and barbaric utterings about savagely pulverising people’s heads that is sending a bad image of Namibia into the world. Viva Gwen, Viva telling the truth, Viva Change!
* BY implication, Madam Pendukeni is telling us that whites killed our beloved brothers and sisters during the liberation struggle. Can she please tell this nation who killed people like Nestor Shanghala, John Nangutuwala and even our beloved 4 000 fellow Namibians who went missing in the Lubango dungeons?
* O GOD be with our leaders. They don’t want to hear the truth. What are they scared of? It’s like they fear, panic. For what? The Namibian, the people who blame you are the very same people who make use of your paper. They read it, they make use of the SMSes. What more? I don’t understand my leaders, honestly.
* THE Namibian is an informative paper. We love to read it. Ms Ithana don’t criticise it or don’t read it.
* SHAME on Gwen Lister for writing all the SMSes. I bet she even wrote this. Shame ...
* I WONDER how does meme Ithana get the info from the bad newspaper, read it under the desk?
