Food For Thought
* TO all politicians! In case we have forgotten, March 21 is a day of national celebration of our Independence. It is a disgrace that while some are announcing plans for the celebrations of this historic day, others are announcing political rallies planned for the very same day. They are simply lost in their political ambitions. I think this is unacceptable. There are 365 days in year and only about six of those are national celebration days. Please, for the sake of peace and unity, let us leave historic days for national celebrations. Thank you
* IF the old Falcon jet is worth N$250 million and many want to buy it, what’s wrong with it? Why don’t we keep it if it’s so desirable?
Taxing Matters
* NAMCOR: How on earth can Beukes ask the Government for a bailout. He and his Board were negligently responsible for the huge loss Namcor suffered recently with the fuel vessel saga. It is time these people be shown the door without golden handshakes, or will they implicate big names?
* WANT proof that bailouts are not a solution? NBC and Air Namibia are shining examples. They have become big black holes which swallow more and more of the hard-earned money of Namibian taxpayers.
* AS a jobless youth, GRN is too busy bailing out non-performing parastatals like Air Namibia, that’s probably why I am jobless.
n SOMEONE once said ‘Don’t steal, the Government hates competition`. With them now taking 10 per cent of my now very low interest earned, one can’t be faulted for keeping any spare cash under the mattress.
Get Up, Stand Up
* AS a nation, we are willing to donate any amount of money to fight for media rights and the injustices in this country. Just tell us how, then we will start now before it’s too late. We have to put an end to all this. Can the Legal Assistance Centre’s Mr N Tjombe and National Society for Human Rights support this idea please?
Running The Show
* THAT person who says Mr Junius Kandjeke the Auditor General is doing a good job must please rethink. If your investment manager or your bank tells you three years late what happened to your investment you will surely take your investment to somebody who reports on time. I invest heavily in my government and country in the form of tax and VAT. The law demand that Mr Kandjeke inform me and all the other investors (taxpayers) what the Government did with our investment. Mr Kandjeke reports up to five years late. As far as I know you get a penalty or fine if you do not act according to the law.
Open Line
* THE only thing I enjoy from NBC is talk shows, the rest I don’t bother listening to and watching. The shock with presenter Tebs Xulu’s remarks on March 17 21h00 to a caller that he knows personally and a member of a certain opposition party was really not proper. I know the party he was aligned with before Independence, which is not the same he favours now. It is not good referring liberation fighters to check their dictionaries. I recommend reshuffling. Thanks.

* CAN NBC please provide this nation with the proof of alleged insults made by the callers on the call-in programmes on Oshiwambo and National radio? Most of the popular callers are well known and can be dealt with if proved. Messing up the national programmes and the whole nation has to suffer for silly excuses. That’s nonsense. Some callers were threatened on air that their days are counted or limited.
* EDITOR, can you please come up with a campaign insert in your newspaper. People can write in the language of their choice. It can be placed on sale for it to run until elections this year. Please editor, our views at NBC are blocked and this is the only way. Thank you.
Politics
* AFROBAROMETER survey results make sense. Mostly the old and uneducated citizens are oblivious of what a modern developed and democratic country could be like. They cling to what they know. These are the Swapo sacrificial lambs. The youth can’t be fooled by outdated struggle credentials and politics of fear.
* CAN all the ministers and deputies who have served since Independence please retire for good? Poverty is ever rising. For what and whom are they there for?
* UNLESS Swapo rejuvenates itself, its demise, within the near future, is an absolute certainty.
General
* AUSTRALIA is to start shooting kangaroos to reduce their number. Can’t the GRN ask them to give us few for game farming? I’m sure we have space here.

* NAMIBIAN people, we should stop blaming each other as no one is clean as egg. We must stand up and challenge the problems that are facing our country, and together we can!

* I WOULD like to refer to the SMS that appeared on March 18 about Outapi Youth Centre. I am using their service every day but I did not observe what the SMS of 18 March claims. On the contrary Outapi Youth Centre closes t 19h30. As a resident of Outapi I am happy with their service. Please let’s try not to play tribal politics.
* I AM one of the clients who use Outapi Youth Centre facilities specifically the gym but we go up to 19h30. There used to be a staff member every day up to 19h30. I do not agree with the SMS of March 18. Generally they are doing well in terms of youth activities.
High Flyers
* SEEMS we are praying for an Air Namibia plane to burst into flames mid-air with 200 passengers on board. One of the passengers might be your relative though! Would it be worth the headline?
* THE only profitable route operated by Air Namibia is the one to Luanda. This is the only route where both airlines, Air Namibia and Taag, operate profitably. Most of the passengers using this route are Angolan citizens. Namibians realise that Air Namibia is doing its bit for the country in this highly competitive industry. The facts are that we are not supporting our own airlines and prefer SAA. Even if Air Namibia flies regionally only they will not survive because we believe it is better to fly with SAA. Wake up, Air Namibia only has one flight daily to Jo’burg which is never fully booked. SAA took over the regional market, they have four flights daily from Windhoek to Jo’burg and return which are the prime scheduled flight times. In the morning and evening the first and last flight to/from Windhoek/Jo’burg are SAA flights. Please check your facts first. Air Namibia, fly the flag.

*Service Please
PLEASE MultiChoice we also want to watch the FA Cup. We pay the same amounts just like other countries who are able to watch the FA Cup.
* FIRST National Bank of Namibia, I am proud of your banking services. However your insurance broker (First Link) division needs to obtain the same standards.
* SHOPRITE Walvis Bay. Poor services. Please help us the community! There are never till packers and the poor cashiers have to do all the work by themselves. To make it worse they stand the whole day.
* MTC please do something about your network. SMSes are not sent and when they are you take forever to deliver them. We need real service, not fancy ads.

Education
* WHY do some schools not have an HOD for social science? Only for maths and science or languages?
In And From The Regions
* I WENT to visit my cousin at the Oshakati Police cells on Tuesday, March 17 this year. To my surprise, Police officers on duty refused to give him to me, saying that he used to be visited a lot. My question is, is it the policy of the Police that if a person is being visited regularly some visitors will not be allowed to see the person or where do those officers get it from? Officers at Oshakati Police Station must bear in their mind that someone in jail is still a person. And they must learn how to work with people. Not all officers, but most of them, especially those who were on duty, on the above-mentioned date, they were very rude. Please, change your manners or otherwise, resign if you are tired working with people.

* WHAT are the requirements for a person to become a headman? Is it normal to be led by a foreigner? We are tired of being fined and led by people who are Angolan and now our village is just full of people from that country. Where will we build our house? Who are the owners of the village Ohakweenyanga. We know you helped plan but the place is ours.
* IT’S about time Namibia starts with our own festivals. I’m looking forward to the crayfish festival at Lüderitz Bucht!
* I WAS ashamed when I noticed that at the main entrance there was no provision made for disabled people at the Swakopmund Police Station. This poor man had to suffer to go in and out of the station.
* MR Naftal Andimba, Mayor of Ondangwa town, we are very tired of waiting for you and your team to relocate our Old Omashaka village. It has been eight years now promising to bring changes to our village like electricity etc. Please we need responses.
* PLEASE stop these house churches in Henties Bay. Maybe there are more than 20.

Labour Issues
* I WOULD like to ask why the Government has to give jobs to these children who were born out of the country? What did they do there? What about those who were born in the country? We were also in a bad situation with our parents. Can you please look on both sides with a big eye.
