Food For Thought
* DO we Namibians really understand politics? Lovers are divorcing each other. Customer relations in business are being destroyed. Friendship is destroyed. Where are you elders of this nation? Uncle Paul, Ya Toivo, Tate Shejavali, Bishop Kaulinge? Please help and teach and advise us on how we must tolerate each other
*PROPERTY developers make huge profits! I challenge them to invest in solar power (even just for geysers) especially when constructing complexes. This will make it cheaper for consumers in the long run and reduce energy demand in the country overall. Thanks.

Messages Of Condolence
* OUR sincere condolences to Tate Nkandi and the family for the tragic loss of our friend and brother Bala. May his soul rest in peace.
– Naita and Frieda
* MY condolences go to the Nakale family and all people who liked Mupaeka’s songs. We always remember you Abed (Mupaeka). We love you. Rest in peace.
n I’M shocked by the death of Mr Mpaeka (Vakwaita vokokongo) my lovely Namibian musician. In our prayers we will keep you always! Rest in peace Hailwa! Psalm 23.

Shocked
* I REALLY would like to sympathise with the family of the late prison officer who got killed by a patient at the Oshakati State Hospital. I’m very sad because the officer died in front of everybody there. That hospital has a lot of male nurses but nobody dared to help the officer. So they all hid, while the poor officer was killed on their premises. Newsdesk, it’s a terrible incident and I’m shocked. I can’t believe that the very active Oshana Police Force could not respond in time and the hospital is in the centre of the town. And if the situation could be like that then our nurses are at risk.
* MINISTER of Health, since when have nurses lives been in danger? The same incident happened at Walvis Bay in 2002 and up to date no police officer is deployed at the hospital. One must phone the Police station in a panic mode. Sometimes you forget the number out of fear! This happened two weeks ago in Walvis Bay again. Luckily the mad person was a woman but she destroyed things. May the prison guard rest in peace!
Rest In Peace MJ
* THANK you news editor for giving an unbiased version of MJ’s and Jordan Chandler’s history. Let’s divide the facts from the tabloid gossip. And the fact is that Michael was a humanitarian apart from being an excellent performer and musician. Allow him and his family to have the peace that was denied to him in his lifetime.
*I AM disappointed that The Namibian could not print a single photo of Michael Jackson taken in Namibia. Why not guys? Are we not proud that the King of Pop valued and visited our country?
– We are also disappointed. As we said yesterday, our photo archive is being upgraded and we haven’t been able to retrieve photos of Michael Jackson’s visit to Namibia. – Newdesk
* I HOPED that it was a mistake and that Michael Jackson would show us that he is still alive. Sadly we have to accept that he lives no more. He is in a better place. I will never forget him. RIP MJ.
* HE had no servants, yet they called him master. He had no degrees, yet they called him teacher. He had no medicine, yet they called him healer. He won no military battles, yet he conquered pop. Will never forget you MJ. We will always love you.
* I HEARD the bad news that Michael Jackson passed away last week and I want to send condolences to all the family of Jackson and other family of Namibian musician who passed away.
Bouquets And Brickbats
* I WENT to Luvuno Upholstery a week ago and the service I received there was incredible. The receptionist working there assisted three customers at the same time but she was patient, friendly and very helpful. That’s what I call quality service. Sir/madam you should be proud of the lady working at your office.

* THE service given by the Ministry of Finance was brilliant on June 30. Good service. Keep it up. Ministry of Home Affairs go and see the example.
– L Nangolo
* AT 09h00 on Monday morning I phoned the City of Windhoek to report a blocked sewer. By 12h00 they had fixed the problem. Thank you for the prompt service!
– Dennis
* THIS goes to an honest taxi driver on Sunday after church, when I lost my cellphone in his car. Guy you are really good, and may God bless you. Thanks a lot!
* I AM a teacher participating in the Science and Maths Week. I would like to thank all the facilitators so far especially the one from DNEA with a very beneficial discussion about the benefits of assessment. I only want to encourage DNEA to do more of such discussions with the teachers. I also want to remind the Ministry of Education that such discussions are not only important for science and mathematics teachers but for everyone especially English teachers.
* NAMIBIA is heading in the right direction in terms of early intervention education with the Wake Up! Day Care centre opening in Otjomuise next year. Our government should actually initiate such pre-school initiatives, in order to improve school results from an early age.

* THE matron and staff at the RDC guest house in Ongwediva demonstrated a very good example of customer care. Their service is of high quality. Thank you very much for the good service.

* DEAR editors, my concern is about the Friday 26 newspaper. When publishing your information such as pictures do you take them or do people in the society give them to you? I am asking in connection with a picture under the title in Oshiwambo ‘iilyo iikuluntu yo RDP’ not all the people in the picture are from the same political party, this is destroying others images as you are saying two things at once (Mangetti farmers and RDP). Thank you.
From VNK, Oniipa
– Most pictures are taken by our reporters; others are supplied to us. A clarification appeared on the Oshiwambo page 24 on June 30. We trust this has sorted out the problem. – Newsdesk
Running The Show
* MINISTRY of Justice, what are you doing, all three faxes for the Northern division are not working at the same time, Tsumeb, Eenhana ad Oshakati. Oh PS and director do something. We want to reach your office through faxes
* DR GEINGOB [Minister of Trade and Industry], regarding the EPA just remember if you want to run with the big dogs don’t p... like a puppy
* DEAR Minister of Education, I am very tired of principals who are forever out of schools. Principals like (some of those) in Ohangwena just come to sign in the black book and leave the school. This thing is bad because these people are paid for nothing. Who should control them? Some have lessons which they never attend. Do something! Inspectors do not even visit schools.
* GRN think again before giving away rights. Our local outlets in Windhoek stock mainly imported fish from South Africa. Hake - N$70 per kg, haddock N$90 kg. Cheapest ex-Namibia N$70 per kg. What are we pensioners supposed to survive on.
– Oupa, 95 Nelson Mandela Ave
Banking On You
* UNTIL recently I thought it was mandatory for banks to increase or decrease rates as per the BoN’s decision, however, it’s not the case. Therefore, I think it’s time that the BoN must be supported and given more powers to compel commercial banks to decrease rates in line with their decision.
* THE banks’ car repo masters are exploiting clients. How on earth can a car be valued 50 per cent less than the loan amount and be auctioned off without prior notification in 30 days. What recourse is there to the client who paid, for example three years in full?
General
* HOW about clubbing murderers to death and not seals? Solution?
* I DO strongly support the idea of Mr Shavuka’s Monday SMS that we enjoy all the good peace and freedom we have today and we mustn’t forget that is because of our Founding President Comrade Sam Nujoma. Therefore the GRN must give him a private jet. Uncle we love you so dearly. Long live ! God bless you tate.
* IT seems to me whenever I switch to NBC or One Africa TV I see half-naked gyrating bodies blatantly simulating the sex act. The cameras regularly focus on the weirdly gyrating bottoms of girls, some as young as six years. Some of the young males hang on to their private parts for dear life. Young people already have a hard time to control their hormones and don’t need this. And then you are surprised when small girls are raped and HIV keeps spreading.
* THE war of arms is over. Let’s wage war in order to fight poverty, hunger, the higher crime rate and HIV.
Health Matters
* HON Minister of Health we need your help. The nurses at Gochas are exhausted.
ACC Alert
* PLEASE the ACC must come very soon to the Oshakati Revenue Office. Our income tax of 2007-2008 has not been worked out. What is this?
In And From The Regions
n DR Richard Kamwi come and visit Engela State Hospital’s transport office! How can a clerk bump a taxi from behind with an ambulance on Sunday? Where were the drivers?
* KEETMANSHOOP residents are real cowards. N$1,5m was stolen from the Municipality in the wake of ever skyrocketing tariffs and nobody said anything, Why?
– BAB, Karas!
* PLEASE Director of Education in our region, our library at Otavi has been without lights for months now. What is going on?
* PLEASE, something from the Okankolo constituency. We want our road from Okankolo to Onkumbula. It’s been almost 10 years and we are tired of waiting. Please.
* AT Outjo we need Omulunga radio station.
* FIRST National Bank of Namibia, we’re tired of going to Outapi to get money. Please we need your service at Tsandi town, even if you just give us an ATM first. Please.
– DA Seven
* HOW on earth can a shebeen open at 10h00 and close at 15h00, to be re-opened again at 18h00. What is the point? Who made such a poor decision. I personally think a shebeen should open at 12h00, by then most of us are back from church. I’m sure that most of my co-shebeen kings and queens will agree with me!
Education
* THE Namibian, are you ‘still telling it like it is’? If so, we want to know which educational region sent the money back as was mentioned by our honourable President some days ago.
Bob
* IS Bobby Samaria dead or what? Instead of paying tribute to MJ he is paying a tribute to Bobby? Come on Uncle Bob! Get real, you are really bored!
* DID Bob became a sports reporter, shame?
* TRIBUTE to Bobby Samaria? What a joke by Bob Kandetu! Write a tribute to those that have made Namibia proud! No wonder he has been sacked by NBC!
Service Please
*FUNNY how you can walk into a bank or shop dressed in a tie and suit and get the best service ever, but when that same person enters the next day dressed in jeans he would angrily be asked to wait at the back of the line, no wonder criminals nowadays choose to dress smart!
– Die leeu
* ON June 25 2009 my daughter went to withdraw money at Okuryangava FNB ATM on the premises of Shoprite u Save. Her card was swallowed by the ATM. A security guard emerged from nowhere and advised her to report the matter to FNB. When she went to FNB she discovered that her money was withdrawn. Is it possible for crooks to tamper with the ATM in broad daylight on a normal working day?
– Mr Mundia, Windhoek
* NAMPOST Courier Service must investigate, some of our parcels never reach our local post offices. Follow-up calls are not attended to properly.
* TELECOM’S mobile 3G EVDO broadband is really a nightmare narrowband especially on Sunday evening. You expect speeds up to 3,1MB/s but only get 4KB/s. Please upgrade your systems!
* PLEASE Standard Bank, do something about your service.
Lost And Found
*A RED and khaki Castle Lager travelling bag lost on Sunday on highway between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo. Female clothes and a toiletry bag inside. Burger Smith is written inside of the bag. I found it. Call 081-396-4058

Road Hogs
* GRN 1821 was driving like hell on June 26 in Okahandja. It was a danger to other road users.

Response From Pupkewitz
* PUPKEWITZ Holdings would like to thank the individual that submitted the complaint (June 17) regarding the unfortunate state of the toilets at Pupkewitz Shell Ondangwa. It has been rectified. We appreciate how frustrating this must have been to our clientele as the company aims to consistently deliver a service to our customers. The problem arose in that the Town Council of Ondangwa suspended the water services to the outlet. The toilets were locked, thereby ensuring that the area didn’t become a health hazard. At no time, before or during the toilets being closed, did the Town Council inform the company as to the reason why the water service was suspended. This matter has now been rectified and the toilet facilities are operational. We would like to encourage customers that experience dissatisfaction at any time to submit their concerns to us by e-mail (info@pupkewitz.com, fax (061 291 6328) or calling (061 291 6300).
