n A PARLIAMENT session for 30 minutes? When are getting to Vision 2030?

Food For Thought
n AT Independence 5% of the population controlled 50% of the cash income. Now, 10% controls 65% of the cash income. 5% equals 100 000 people. This is what 18 years of Independence have achieved. Now comes the big question: Who is the biggest threat to democracy? The old rich or the new rich, who try to drag our attention to old enemies and old struggles? Fellow compatriots, we fought to have equal chances for ALL of us, not only 100 000 new richies! A luta continua !
n WHY do we have a Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Safety and Security and a Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and a Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication? Why can’t we just have one Ministry of Defence and one for communication. The other two don’t fit!
Bouquets
And Brickbats
n ON February 20 in Independence Avenue I saw a sight very rare on the streets of Windhoek. I saw our own President (Hifikepunye) Pohamba walking the streets of the city with an entourage and that made me so proud to be a part of the Land of the Brave. I do not see that every day. My heart was bleeding with love and admiration for my president. God Bless you Tate.
n THANK you to ... Safaris staff who were drunk and obscene swearing and shouting at the dam and making life unpleasant for all of us who chose to go to the dam for the weekend and relax! You ruined the weekend for all of us! Thank you.

Politics
n I AM also concerned about the way the Electoral Commission elects officials from Katutura East. They never select people in our area. We want also to taste the fruits of Independence, not only their family members and friends. ACC please check this issue.
– PS
n HEY Swapo and RDP, when are you showing us your programmes? We are tired of listening to your insults and perceived insults of each other – we want to be able to compare what you are intending to do to manage the crises and challenges Namibia is facing. After evaluating your programmes, we will make up our mind who we want to vote for. And remember: we don’t want general bloomy and glossy “manifestos” - we want direct, concrete and implementable programmes; and we want to know how you intend to finance such programmes. Get real, don’t bore us with disputes about personalities and so called “loyalty” discussions, who hibernates in whose house etc. We want facts and figures, no politicking in verbal acrobatics.
In And From the Regions
n IT’S bad enough that in this day and age we don’t have water available in our taps! At least water tanks are put in our areas! In Long Beach they are empty almost instantly! Why? Because builders are using the water to build with! Talk about inconsiderate!
n NHE in the North and Rundu must start sending us our bond statements. I have read in the press of an interest rate decline, from 14% to 13%, which I think can reduce our monthly repayment. Or doesn’t it have any effect on our repayment?
General
n WHEN is the City of Windhoek going to do something to the roads in Cimbebasia? Even the humps have potholes!
n IN Africa the culture of dependency is deep-rooted. At work you find those who never buy newspapers but who read them from Mr X every day. If Mr X is not at work they go home at five without reading any paper. Above all they gossip about Mr X’s absence!
n CAN the troubled housewife just please her husband and leave our prostitutes alone.

n IS it true that a CEO of a certain parastatal earns a N$100 000 per month? Can the salaries of all the parastals’ CEOs be made public, please?
Veterans’ Affairs
n COULD the Minister of Veterans’ Affairs explain to the veterans of the liberation struggle what type of projects they are intending to give? As I see these poor people are already old and cannot work in the field. How on earth you give such type of work to a person of 60, 70 or 80 years old. Think twice Comrade Minister, not to repeat the DBC.
Running The Show
n THE person that describes the majority of the public servants as inter alia party patronage dependent incompetents puts it mildly. Very, very mildly. There is absolutely no supervision. No example setting. You will very easily find half of my colleagues outside the office any time of the day. On payday all of us will be absent standing in the line at the bank to withdraw our pay. All this of a so-called management cadre who don’t do their job and who don’t inspire anybody but the bank manager and the salesmen of luxury cars. They are paid and receive everything as market-related remuneration. But when they must pay they pay the same as us paupers. Their medical aid contribution is only N$60 per month while the market-related fee is N$60 per day. The people who must act against the management cadre won’t. Why? Because they enjoy the same honey.
n PLEASE Comrade President (Hifikepunye Pohamba) fire Mr Tweya. This is too embarrassing! How can you trust him with our money while he fails to manage his own?
n PRESIDENT Pohamba please confirm or deny that your government wants to buy a plane for over N$600 million this year. If yes you are repeating the same mistake of 1992 of your predecessor? Did Vision 2030 mention planes?

Education
n MINISTER of Education tell us how many secondary schools there are in Omusati Region? How many in Ohangwena? Which region has the highest population? Please tell us.
n TO the Director, Inspector of Oshana Region. Parents of learners at Oluno Primary School are not happy at hearing of the change where the Grade 1 – 4 classes will start school at from 12h00 to 17h20. Our kids are very small. Who will help them to cross water because many parents are working far from houses and why didn’t the principal organise a parents’ meeting, so that we can give our views? We want to hear from you.
n IT seems that Nantu does not have the concerns of its members on IOL problems. Programme ACE teachers face similar problems. Can’t we gather in Windhoek at the Nantu offices during the May 2009 school break and address our problems with one voice. Let us unite.
n I REALLY hope that you will place the SMS about this teacher’s salary: he is a nice person, a hardworking teacher, who puts in a lot of effort teaching without textbooks and getting good results, but after five years he is still getting a salary equal to a Grade 12 qualification. I can provide you with some more “interesting” information, where the mistakes are made by computer.
ACC Alert
n CAN ACC please come and check what’s going on at the Mariental Municipality because the Build Together houses are given to family members who work there.
n PLEASE ACC come and investigate how the auditors do their auditing at NBC.
Health Matters
n PLEASE Minister of Health please legalise abortions in Namibia. Fewer babies will end up in dumpsters.
Labour Issues
n I JUST want to find out from Nanu leaders if it is true that you have bought an office that has cost about a million? If it is true why were we members not informed of such a move? Mr Shopati, we want transparency please, especially when it comes to finances of the union.
n FISHERIES. My concern is about the fishing permits. Some people are going to sea without permits. We want our government to reduce the money for that licence because is too expensive. I want feedback from the Ministry of Fisheries.
n HOW on earth can Kanime be employed by both Telecom and the NBC? Other Namibians need employment too! Viva honesty.
n TRANSNAMIB: When is our CEO Mr T Haimbili coming to work? We have been six months now without a chief, the joke of the year. Mr President if things at TransNamib don’t change now, I am not sure what will happen. We are tired and sick of the management and the useless board.
Jan Owambo.
Children Of The Struggle
n NAMIBIAN nation it’s time to wake up and forget about the past. We all contributed to the liberation struggle. We are all children of the struggle. Those children must go back to school and become productive people instead of camping for many days. They will end up with sexually transmitted diseases.
– Ngekepo, Windhoek
n GRN give war orphans jobs. These kids have suffered a lot, especially those who wrote Grade 12 but did not make it to Unam. Other institutions where they qualify to go are more expensive. Even Namcol, where they can improve their subjects. Do something to this kids.
– Ndalulilwa
And Justice For All
n BEFORE sending hungry, poverty-stricken stock thieves off to prison for 30 years let the Namibian courts stop corruption and order Jerry Ekandjo to give back Meme Petrina Afrikaner’s goats.
– J Claasen
Service Please
n NBC has there been no service at Outjo for six days? It was not like that before Bob Kandetu was dismissed.
– Mr Porker
n FNB why do you charge an extra 5 per cent levy on clients when paying fuel with debit cards if they fulfil same functions as petro cards?
n PARKING bays at Pelican Square in Hochland Park are so faded, whose duty is it to repaint them?
