Food For Thought
* CAN the City Police please provide a cellphone number for crime reports too. The SMS line is not enough. And land line is costly to call from our cells.
* I WOULD like to share the same sentiment about neglected widows. Mostly the Ovakwanyama’s tradition is worst ever when it comes to inheritance. My father passed away in 2005 and after his funeral his siblings never returned, only sending village headmen that they need this and that. Please let’s work hard for survival not to end up wishing people to die soon for them to benefit. Learn to love your in-laws dearly!
Bouquets And Brickbats
* I WAS very surprised to see a young female MP in Leonardville’s dusty streets. I thank you Hon Eviline Nawases for being a humble young leader.
* TO the City of Windhoek. Thanks Chief Kanime. Well done re the taxis in Windhoek. Be strong and act promptly. It has been long overdue. Besides the painting, what about the ‘dress code’, code of conduct. All taxi drivers should be registered with the Ministry of Trade, Finance. Nabta should play a big role to regulate the taxi industry!
* I WANT to thank employers who only ask for a CV for job applications. Because certified copies are not only expensive, but Police sometimes don’t even look properly thus waste our time. We can bring originals at or after the interview.
* THANK you very much. I get good service at Oshakati Service Station in Wanaheda, especially from the one lady whose name I do not know. Mostly she is at the till. She has good manners, is always happy and knows how to serve customers
Keep it up.
* I WANT to say thanks to Adgraphix Digital Printers for their service. Keep it up.
* IMAGINE how Namibia will improve if every child has enough to adequately meet their needs. Yes to a universal child grant. Thanks for the idea BIG coalition
Who’s Boozing Who?
Dep Labour Minister Petrus Ilonga
* IT is also easier to play the race card, then blame yourself. Is it not the government the grants the shebeen licences?
* TELL Mr [Petrus] Iilonga [Deputy Minister of Labour] not to be so stupid and ask him how many shebeens are run by whites? No wonder the stadium was nearly empty if that’s the best he can come up with.
* MOST Members of Parliament and the National Council have shebeens, while the Labour Minister cries foul.
* WHERE was Petrus Ilonga when the shebeen owners laid siege to Parliament in 2006? We did not see any white faces among those seeking to bully President [Hifikepunye] Pohamba. It was the Swapo Party Government that allowed shebeens to mushroom everywhere. Your blatant attempt to play the race card in this regard stinks of hypocrisy – and you want to be called “Honourable Ilonga”?
* MINISTER Ilonga, the ‘enemy’ is joining Swapo. We must revoke their membership at once!
* PETER Iilonga stop the blame game – you are boring and so predictable!
* DEPUTY Minister of Labour, please ask a person to prepare your speeches!
* RE your article on ‘Deputy Minister claims alcohol complot’ – seems Min Ilonga had a nightmare sleeping, while most of us have moved on with our lives! Are there any shebeens run by white people? It is always easy to blame someone else for your own shortcomings!
* WHAT nonsense! White youth drink as much if not more! Who is to blame? RDP?
n QUESTION to Mr Ilonga: How are the white people destroying us with alcohol sir? As far as I know, every second house in my location has a shebeen and none of them belong to a white man, and even the licenses was not issued by the white man, so what role is the white man playing in this regard? If I go to town where the white man lives, I find two or three bars so who is fooling who Mr Ilonga?

* IT is obvious that the “turnaround strategy” for NWR by Dr [Tobie] Aupindi has failed. This man is giving away Namibian public resources with the GRN’s apparent blessing. Shame on Swapo! And shame on the opposition for not being vocal. NWR management is much worse than Air Namibia, which is only losing money, not giving away our national heritage.
City Fathers Please ...
* PLEASE City Police, can you do something about the shebeen in Sinagoge Street. Things get out of hand, music plays loud all seven days of the week till late night. We want to rest please.
General
In the news again
* THE GRN wants to build toilets along national roads, while we are having thousands of people living in shacks. Namibian people, let’s stop this madness in November.

* WHETHER it’s the President or the man who helps to keep the city clean, they are civil servants paid for by me, the taxpayer. I help to give them employment, therefore I have some say in what I pay for. I say no to anyone using Government property for their own convenience. No to a GRN car picking up children from school. No to a GRN-employed driver driving the vehicle. These facilities are for use to aid the man who pays. I say NO to private use.
* RESETTLEMENT and Mr Alfred Angula: in response to “future generations will require land for self-sustainability” makes me laugh! The self-sustainability I see is defined by self pity and asking for financial support from all over the place, including the very foreigners Mr Angula prefers to see chased away. I am sure they are paying their land tax and employ people. I hope the resettled farmers do the same. Africans, please wake up to the global world. If you want to live like 100 years ago, don’t accept financial donations from overseas but do it on your own all the way. Then we talk! This concept of yours isn’t working in a competitive world anymore. Sorry for the wake-up call.
* WE don’t have any sense of proper governance, that is why so-called leaders can channel funds to their own companies. Namfisa and the ACC have failed this nation with their political connections.
And Justice for All
* IT must be punishable by law for any intelligence officer to attempt to spy on any person without a warrant from Court. Therefore the word “may” has to be replaced with “shall”. No wonder the Spy Bill was unprocedurally bulldozed through National Assembly.

Education
* AT Uukule, learners only memorise booklets because that’s what we write for the exams. Now how are we going to pass the final exam if we don’t have knowledge?
* PERMANENT Secretary of Education since you said us teachers must not be recruited to work for coming elections, just make sure that no one from that ministry be it personnel officers be released since we are all working in same ministry and must be treated equal and ECN must not contravene this.
– From a concerned teacher, Anna
Lost And Found
* THE ID for Marcelline Kazimbu has been found. Contact 081-231-1469
* I FOUND your belongings in the taxi. There’s an ID for Mrs Teopolina Lukas and social security card and Bank Windhoek debit card. Contact the taxi driver in Windhoek 081-283-6693
In And From The Regions
* PLEASE GRN, build a clinic at Ambunda Combined School. Onayena and Okankolo are very far. People are dying here.
* DEAR Editor, is filling petrol with GRN money in private property not corruption? This happened at Tses.
Labour Issues
* THE movie of ‘Tate Penda’! Please our GRN (Ministry of Defence) take note this is same that applies in the Defence Force, once it comes to promotions.
Disconnections
* MTC! Please make the connection. Eheke is not that far from Ondangwa but yet with a very poor network. When will you do something? Perhaps your workers at the customer centre do not bring complains to the attention of the managers.
Service Please
They do add up
* WHAT a rip-off. I could not believe it when perusing my account statement that FNB charges us N$17 for every debit order. Unbelievable.
