The Namibian sells out in Rundu
By: DENVER KISTINGA TOTAL of 755 copies of The Namibian were sold in Rundu yesterday. The newspaper is sold at eight Rundu shops and on the streets.
It is understood that some outlets sold out before 09h00 yesterday. Although one reader said that a single businessman had bought all the newspapers, this could not be verified.
Yesterday’s edition had a front-page report on the first court appearance of three Rundu residents arrested last week on charges of fraud, theft, money laundering and corruption.
The three men, Rundu business owners Daniel Batista de Jesus (36) and Calvin Bezuidenhoudt (49), and the latter’s brother, Gerhard Bezuidenhoudt (40), were added as co-accused in the case in which former cement company employee Esmerelda Majiedt has been facing corruption charges involving millions of dollars.
