Shack fires

A total of 53 shacks have burned down in Windhoek’s informal settlements since July this year, according to the Windhoek Fire Brigade.

Yesterday another shack caught fire in the Katutura’s Havana informal settlement while the owners were not home. The shack burned to ashes and the owners could not retrieve any of their possessions. Photo: Henry van Rooi
