Simon arrives for Saturday’s fight
By: SHEEFENI NIKODEMUSHARRY Simon is in Windhoek, acclimatising ahead of his showdown with Ruben Groenewald on Saturday.
Simon and the South African are set to trade leather in a light-heavyweight twelve-rounder at the SKW Hall in Windhoek.
According to Simon’s spokesperson Teobald Nukena, the undefeated former world champion’s opponent will arrive for the fight on Thursday.
Simon, who’s been training in Johannesburg, has been sharpening up at a gym run by trainer Tobias Nashilongo in Katutura.
“Harry is already here with his trainer (Lucky Mabunda). He came early so that he can adapt to the weather,” said Nukena.
Tickets to the fight cost N$200 for a regular seat, while N$10 000 will be charged for a VIP table seating 10 persons.
The event, hosted by Kinda Boxing Promotions, is expected to start at 19h00.
Also on the card are: Pohamba Mandume v Ezaya Chilufya (Zambia) - welterweight 6 rounds, Gotlieb Ndokosho v Ronald Tamani (Zimbabwe) - featherweight 8 rounds, Joseph Katenda v Tinashe Madziwana (Zimbabwe) - featherweight 6 rounds, Chris Ukelo v Elia Shekuza – lightweight 4 rounds, and Albinus Felesianu v Tom Chisenga (Zambia) – featherweight 10 rounds.
