Kamwi to reshuffle managementBy: LUQMAN CLOETE
HEALTH Minister Richard Kamwi yesterday revealed his intention to reshuffle the top management of his ministry.
Addressing senior health workers of the Karas and Hardap regions during what he termed a “support visit” to the Keetmanshoop State Hospital, the minister said he wants “to make things work”.
Accompanied by his special advisor, Dr Naftali Hamata, and the health ministry’s undersecretary Dr Taati Ithindi-Shipanga, Kamwi said the reshuffle will be based on managers’ performance records.
“We want to make things move,” Kamwi emphasised.
Pointing at the Hardap regional health director, Christencia Thataone, Kamwi said: “She will be transferred somewhere else because of her performance record.”
Kamwi did not say when the reshuffle will be done.
He also said that plans were afoot to hold the first national health conference in October.
“At the planned conference we’ll brainstorm on how to change the situation at public health institutions for the better,” said Kamwi.
