Three seriously injured in accident
By: LUQMAN CLOETETHREE Keetmanshoop residents, including two children, were seriously injured when they were hit by a car on Thursday night.
Sofia Jahs (63), Armandu Jahs (9) and Viorte Kooper (10) were walking on the pavement in the Tseiblaagte residential area when they were hit by the car before it crashed into a house.
The three were admitted to the Keetmanshoop State Hospital, and on Friday Sofia Jahs, who suffered serious fractures, was transferred to the Windhoek Central Hospital.
Bystanders told The Namibian that the driver, who is a member of the Namibian Police, fled the accident scene on foot after a resident had confiscated the car key.
Police Inspector Ruben Ikela said the driver was arrested by the NDF military police.
