Blunt force caused student’s death

By: DENVER KISTING

ELIAKIM Kandali Inane (31) who was killed near Otjomuise over the weekend, died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

Earlier, it was reported that Inane was suspected to have been stoned to death before his body was set on fire.
A postmortem was done yesterday. It was found that Inane had been beaten on the head with an unknown object – possibly a rock.
By yesterday afternoon, there had still been no arrest in connection with the killing.
Inane was a final-year Business Information Systems (BIS) student at IUM in Windhoek.
His body was found early Saturday morning by someone collecting firewood.
The police found a burned-out taxi several hundred metres from the body.
Police Deputy Commissioner Silvanus Nghishidimbwa on Sunday said that the taxi belonged to Inane’s cousin and that Inane was asked to drive it for the day.
