Christ Embassy reaches out
By: SELMA SHIPANGACHRIST Embassy Namibia last week embarked on a national ‘nation building’ campaign to distribute 100 000 free copies of the ‘Rhapsody of Realities’ daily devotional.
In a colourful parade on Wednesday, members of the church’s branch in Windhoek took to the streets, waving Namibian flags, singing songs of praise and distributing the daily devotional to every soul in sight.
The daily devotional, co-authored by Pastors Chris and Anita Oyakhilome from Nigeria, is published monthly. The Bible study booklet guides and sheds light on topics such as wisdom, purpose, success, salvation, prosperity and many others. ‘Rhapsody of Realities’ has been translated into more than 90 languages worldwide including Oshiwambo, Rukwangali, Afrikaans, German and Otjiherero.
According to church member Alex Tjihero, the free distribution campaign that started on Wednesday aims to appeal to the soul of the nation of Namibia and its people.
“Bearing in mind that there are three important things required for success in life which are vision, purpose and power, the partners of the Rhapsody of Realities and Christ Embassy have decided to reach out to the nation of Namibia and indeed the entire nations of Southern Africa” he said.
The free distribution of the Rhapsody of Realities is also done in other southern African countries by the Christ Embassy church branches in those countries.
He adds that the objectives of the campaign amongst others are to promote a patriotic spirit in the people of Namibia by building the total man which is the spirit, soul and body, “thus giving the citizens of Namibia the opportunity to hope for a better future for themselves, their families and for the entire nations as we project the Word of God through the Rhapsody of Realities”.
“Another objective of the campaign is to saturate our environment with the presence of God by creating an awareness for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Southern Africa, and instilling in the people the consciousness of Christ,” he said. He added that the campaign also aims to awaken in the hearts of young people a new sense of vision, purpose and motivation for the great future of the Namibian nation and to bring hope, joy, life, light, health, peace, prosperity and source of succour to the hurting through the Word of God packaged in the daily devotional. “Our Messenger Angel book (Rhapsody of Realities) is a compilation of selected vital truths from The Holy Bible by our Pastors Chris and Anita Oyakhilome which are then expounded and conveyed in a simple easy to understand way,” he said. “Through the Rhapsody, we expect to address and curb social moral and economic challenges helping to transform the region into a prosperous and peaceful place. Making the gospel available and easily accessible to everyone through the Reach Out campaign is our ministry’s contribution towards nation building this year,” said Pastor Dillan Cagnetta.
