Give a Christmas gift with a difference this year
THE N/a’an ku se Lodge and Wildlife Sanctuary outside Windhoek has come up with a unique Christmas drive.
People can buy a Christmas gift via the Internet for either the San community or one of the many wild animals they look after.
N/a’an ku se supports the San community not only by providing jobs at the lodge but also by giving them an education. The Lifeline Clinic at Epukiro also provides free medical treatment to the San community.
They have identified the most urgent needs of the communities and people can buy these gifts online.
Gifts for the San include books to set up a library, book bags with stationery, shoes and socks or a gift bag bursting with toiletries, which will teach the children hygiene.
People can also give a gift of a month’s supply of nappies for a baby or a gift set of a cup, plate and cutlery for a child which they can use next year during lunchtime at their new school.
These are just some of the gift ideas N/a’an ku se has come up with to improve the lives of the San pepole living on the farm.
Being a wildlife sanctuary, people also have the choice of rather buying a gift for the animals – food and treats for the baboon sanctuary or bags of feed for the rabbits, sheep, goats and birds on the farm.
The project offers a safe haven for orphaned or injured animals who cannot be returned to the wild. All these animals need constant care and food and by adopting an animal or buying food for Christmas people can help N/a’an ku se to continue with their work.
People wanting to buy a special Christmas gift this year can visit www.ecotourism-namibia.com/shop/gifts.html and make a difference in someone’s life.
