Ruff n’ Smooth

By: NATASHA UYS

The name Big Brother Africa is not only synonymous with all the action and drama that goes down in the house on a daily basis, it has also become know for highlighting the best of music from around the continent.

This week, viewers can look forward to a rocking performance from Ghana’s Afro Pop duo Ruff n’ Smooth, who are scheduled to perform at Sunday’s eviction show.
Together, Bullet and Akan form the musical group, whose latest single ‘Swagger’ has been a major hit within Ghana and around Africa.
So, if you love African music don’t forget to check these guys out as they perform some of their best tracks this Sunday on M-Net Africa, DStv Channel 102 at 18h00.
Meanwhile, back at the house, which you could be forgiven for thinking has suddenly morphed into a scene out of ‘Fear Factor’, the housemates have been barely stopping themselves from puking at the sight, smell and taste of bowls filled with slimy eyes.
Mmmh, I just knew Biggie was furiously strategising on a way to get back at the housemates for their food protests last week and what better way than making them eat the most disgusting things.
Bowls full of slimy eyeballs complete with eyelashes coming right up!
This part of the task has really separated the boys from the men so to say. Sammi swallowed down his eyes easily – making them a little more palatable with a splash of lemon and spices.
Sheila ate her eyes methodically. One eye at a time while Mwisho treated his bowl of eyeballs as though they were a delicacy. He actually savoured the experience.
Paloma was the first lady to finish hers, while Yacob couldn’t manage even one eye.
Can’t say I blame him, just thinking about it is making me a little queezy!
Our gal Meryl turned the whole thing into a joke, saying “I don’t think I’ve sucked anything this bad ... and I’ve sucked many!”, while Munya thought Biggie should have given them some whiskey to help the eyes go down a little bit easier.
In other payback news, Biggie recently announced a 10 per cent reduction in the prize money on offer to the winner of BBA All Stars.
Yep, instead of US$200 000, the prize money has been cut to US$180 000.
According to Biggie the deduction was done as a result of the housemates disrespect, violent behaviour and disregard for viewers.
Eish! Thats one way to get housemates to toe the line.
That money is not totally lost to the housemates though, apparently it can be earned back.
“Big Brother will allow the Housemates to earn the prize money back as a group. Should the group’s ongoing application in the House towards all Big Brother rules and tasks be satisfactory for the next four weeks, then Big Brother will restore the $20 000 to the grand Prize.”
Told ya’ll Biggie would have the last word.
While fear was not a factor for the housemates, money definitely is. I think it’s fair to say there will be no further rule infringements or epic power struggles being played out by the housemates to come ...
Nevertheless, keep watching as all the action goes down in the BBA house – 24/7 on Channel 198 on DStv – and remember to send us your views by emailing bba@namibian.com.na
