Six narrowly escape death on airport road

By: SELMA SHIPANGA

SIX adults and a baby were seriously injured yesterday when the minibus they were travelling in left the road and overturned on the road to the Hosea Kutako International Airport, a few kilometres outside Windhoek.

The minibus was on its way to Farm Finckenstein to drop off people who work there.
Gerry Shikesho of the Windhoek City Police said the accident apparently was caused by a burst tyre. “We do not suspect speeding,” he said.
When The Namibian arrived at the scene, paramedics were attending to the injured  and loading them into three ambulances.
Shikesho cautioned drivers, especially those driving during peak traffic hours, to plan their routes properly and to inspect their vehicles before taking to the road.
