Bohitile to chair Meatco Board
THE Namibian Meat Corporation (Meatco) made history yesterday, when the board elected former Deputy Education Minister Clara Bohitile, also a prominent commercial farmer, as chairperson, the first woman in that position.
The election was also given the nod by Agriculture Minister John Mutorwa, who appointed the board members for another three years yesterday.
Bohitile was not present yesterday, when Mutorwa introduced the new Board to the media, as she had only been notified, on her farm about the event, less than two hours before it took place.
The other board members are Sophy Kasheeta and Paulina Gomusab, former chairman Arne Gressmann, Martin Hilbert and Ripanda Meroro. Hilbert has been elected as vice-chairperson of the Meatco Board.
