Oupa' Thomas Amuyela is 96 years old. Although the queue was already long at the Meduletu Hall at Mondesa, Swakopmund, on Friday morning, voters – some of whom had been waiting in line for five hours – allowed 'Oupa' to vote first, with the friendly assistance of poll officers. Amuyela said that although he has voted before, elections are always a big moment for him and that he was very happy to be able to participate in the 2009 elections.
