We Are ‘Stupid’ Because...

THE deputy minister who said we are stupid, I suppose, never in his life had to try and start something from the ground up. Maybe he was privileged enough to have the money, investors, government or banks to help him to start up a company.

But if we are stupid, what is the government that he is part of? Let us start to concentrate on the Kudu project. Why, after how many times and promise, we still have done nothing with all that gas? It is a known fact that two of our neighbours will struggle to supply enough electricity for the near future. Which is the cleanest way to produce electricity? Gas. No harmful by products for the people or nature, but we want to build a nuclear plant...
We have enough gas to commission two power plants.  One for SA and one for Angola. You cannot develop an economy without water or energy. On the energy side we can become a net exporter of electricity. Well, one day our friend Rob Mugabe must leave office and then maybe Zimbabwe economy will start to grow again, they will need electricity. Guess what, we are stupid because we sit on a natural product that can give us an advantage in our region. It can help develop our country, develop our people and give us an edge.
You see we are stupid because sometimes government makes it difficult for us to progress. To develop from stupid to wise, from followers to leaders, from economically poor to economically rich.
This is only one example on how the Government wants to keep us “stupid” because there is no political will to do the right thing. Project two, the rail line to Luderitz…
