Things Falling Apart!

IT IS very painful to realise and admit that something has gone wrong in your own house but I can’t keep quiet anymore.

I left the ‘Land of the Brave’ to pursue my studies abroad and it seems the once peaceful, loving and caring nation is turning into a barbaric state of turmoil. The murders, rapes, violence against women and the level of alcohol abuse is way out of hand. One could swear our nation is cursed.
What has gone wrong that a man would kill a woman he once held very dear to his heart? That a man would force himself on a woman on a mere sexual whim? Has the value of life really hit an all-time low in our country?
The whole point of having a security force, a justice system and police force is not just to show off but so that the citizens feel free, safe and at ease.
The politicians should stop complaining about salary increases and start serving the people. Some politicians have surely mistaken being a civil servant for making a quick buck from the nation for doing nothing!
Just a quick question to the security elite of the nation: “When are these barbaric acts going to end? What drastic measures are you taking to see that our mothers and sisters live a longer and happier lives?”
Maybe and just maybe we should re-visit the death penalty.
