As stated in the article some toes where stepped on, so please let them not apologise for stating their views and opinions! I congratulate them on using their freedom of speech in our independent Namibia. I can clearly sense in their letter that they are against born-again churches; they do not like the way we praise and worship God; they simply do not like ‘these new churches’, and they are justifying themselves with scepticism.
As a born-again person, the `clappy happy thing` we do has a meaning and if they read their Bible, to rejoice and be joyful in church is called praise and is a different kind of worship (Psalms 148). The fact that we don`t know what is going to happen next in church is, as mentioned in the article, the Holy Spirit taking over the service, something a person can only understand if they become a born-again Christian (when your spirit is reborn, that is why it is said ‘born-again’).
I am not trying to get personal; I only want to shed light on the ignorant statements on that article. The Bible says that in the last days false prophets will appear and will mislead the Church of Christ (2 Thessalonians 2;3-10). They will preach and do miracles but they are just ‘wolves in sheep clothing’.
Not all of ‘these new churches’[ are hoaxes as some are truly led by the Holy Spirit and as Christians we have to discern these people’s spirits very sharply as the Bible says we should and use the word of God whether what they say and do is what the Bible teaches us. And it is not right to judge all `these new churches` but do a little (a lot actually) spiritual research, Bible reading and use the word of God to justify what we are saying or informing the public. As they said clearly in the article it’s a personal thing you have with God, period. No buts.
Proud born-again Christian
