Students Will Suffer

PEOPLE always says that when two elephants fight what suffers is the grass! It sound so nice and loud when the Permanent Secretary In the Ministry of Education, Alfred Ilukena, and other Ministry of Education personnel threaten teachers with so-called unpaid leave.

Dear fellow teachers and compatriots, can someone remind Ilukena and his team (including the Minister of Education) that they can proudly go ahead with their idea of cutting teachers salaries who went on illegal strike and they will get a reward of a five per cent pass rate for students?
What what the ministry and others fail to understand is that, they were shaped by poor teachers and that does not mean that they are more clever than  teachers. I am sure even other people will blame you in future because at the end of the day it will be your failure and this will remain the history in Namibian education system.
Namibian nation please wake up from your dream of living in denial. Teachers are hungry and they were demanding what is due to them. You can deduct even the whole salary. But this is not the end. South African colonial troops were even killing people, but finally they were defeated by the people.
One must learn that not even an army can defeat people. Same applies to teachers – not even the minister or permanent secretary can defeat teachers.
