This happens because there are many steps in the government hiring process and there is no set time limit to the process.
That’s why in some instances government is regarded as being ineffective.
The Public Service Commission has no incentives to motivate people in charge to speed up processes.
In private companies, if you are screened out of the selection process when the organisation’s human resources department reviews all applications for the minimum requirements, it may only be a week or two after the closing date for you to receive your rejection letter.
For example, the Ministry of Finance advertised about 70 posts in October last year: taxation officers, senior taxation officers, chief taxation officers and control officers and up to now there has been no feedback from the ministry. In this era we thought the government was aiming at becoming more effective, but there is no hope.
As a result, the ministry wasted resources.
The question is, should we apply for other jobs or should we wait again for another six months?
