Constitution This, Constitution That

IS IT not amazing how whenever citizens call upon certain changes to be made, then the lawmakers are always quick to point to the Constitution?

For example, about a year ago people had called for the re-introduction of the death penalty for murderers and recently the call by Reverend Maria Kapere to re-introduce compulsory Bible studies in government schools to help stop the decaying of moral values. Still they point to the Constitution which indicate that Namibia is a secular state, hence it can never be done.
The same Constitution that was blindly copied and pasted from western countries as Namibia’s own without even looking at what would serve the citizens and what would be useless to them, yet people are boasting about this Namibian Constitution, which in actual fact is not Namibia’s own.
So then who is fooling, who I ask? No wonder it was reported that Minister. Tjekero Tweya said “Namibians are stupid” indeed we are.
Oh Before I conclude, Reverend Kapere those in a position to turn Namibia into the right direction do not see the moral decay you speak about and hence don’t give a damn about it.
All they see is the Constitution which was cast in stone.
