Water In A Year Of Drought

NAMIBIA is in the grip of a drought again. People are already hungry and in all probability, the situation will worsen. Therefore, we have to remember what happened in June/July last year.

The underground water is most important especially during a dry year. But let us ask, what did we do with that water, have we been able to make use of this little subterranean ocean in 2013? Have we started to exploit this resource? Or will it take a ‘vision 2050’ to make use of it? The experts say our animals and we can drink it just as it is and we can use it to water our crop fields, too. That would guarantee many households their food security.
So, the big question now is, can and do we use this water? Or, have we done nothing with it? Answers would be appreciated!
