I have read their 2012 annual report and became aware of what cases they are dealing with. I am writing this brief opinion to advise the new prime minister to help improve efficiency at this government agency, especially with issues relating to recruitment of human resources.
The PSC can sit on documents for months without any timelines indicated. It is a pity when people start asking, “don’t you know somebody there at the PSC?” for your case to be resolved on time.
I am convinced that the current PM is aware of the slow pace at which issues are dealt with at the PSC. In fact, the government sometimes loses good prospective employees to the private sector because people get fed up with waiting for the PSC to endorse documents. By the time they finish applicants have already taken up posts somewhere else.
It will be good in future for the government to recruit highly professional staff to help improve efficiency at the PSC.
