In that letter, I primarily thanked the University of Namibia (Unam) for introducing online registration. However, I also insinuated that the university has failed on its promise to provide wireless internet, particularly at the main campus. On that point, I stated that the said internet was ‘’only available from within and around the library’’ and that it was ‘’painfully slow’’. While those statements were factual and based on my experience as from last year, I’d like to put the record straight and inform the nation, particularly prospective students, that the situation at the moment has improved dramatically and wireless internet at the main campus is indeed accessible from anywhere and is reasonably fast. In reaction to my letter and in good spirit, the director of the Computer Centre, Nabot Uushona, tracked me down and personally took me on a tour of the main campus. He took me to almost all the blocks and showed me the several access points that had been installed to improve both the coverage and speed of the internet. I, therefore, would like to express my sincere apology to the university for any wrong perception I may have unwittingly created about its internet services.
