Denying Namibians Jobs

I WANT to ask if the Minister of Fisheries or the government are there to create employment or to create unemployment? I’m working as a seaman at Erongo Marine and then I heard that the company has decided to send one of its vessels out of Namibian waters to go and search fishing grounds in another country because the ministry has reduced the quota that was allocated before.

Minister and government, how do you feel seeing or hearing that people are losing jobs yet you give jobs to foreigners? Look at how many Namibians are on those new right holders’ vessels; they are not even 30 but the vessel operates with 100 employees! Now I want the minister to tell us the reason for reducing quotas to those old companies that were here permanently and instead allocating quotas to people who sell their quotas to the Chinese and other nations who then come here to catch those quotas and once finished they take their vessels and leave. Please minister, tell us why?
