The Struggle For Others

I WOULD like to ask the politicians who are in favour of the “struggle kids” if ordinary Namibians do not deserve a fair chance.

Surely, their parents fought so that there can be peace and justice for all. Or was the fight for independence for personal gain and certain privileges for certain groups?
I thought the fight for independence was equality. Now I realise why Nelson Mandela is loved by so many. He was truly fighting for equality and not for certain rewards.
By what I see from fellow Namibians, and African leaders at large, he could have stayed in power till death because he suffered for his country and he could have demanded that. Yet he did not.
When one fights for equality and justice it is for the greater good and not for personal rewards.
I am sorry for the losses of the “struggle kids”, but please move on. In case people forgot there was also a war inside Namibia and everyone was affected by it, except perhaps for those younger than 24 years who are born-frees.
Please people let every Namibian have a fair chance at life. I know some suffered more than others to make equality possible for us.
So let us embrace their struggle and suffering and not bring division back into our country by saying that one group of unemployed youths is more special than the other. One Namibia, one nation!
