Strive For The World Cup

THE Brave Warriors lost their World Cup qualifying game on 23 March 2013, which is a big disappointment, and to make matters worse, the coach Bernard Kaanjuka resigned.

I’m disappointed because Malawi didn’t beat us for 22 years, but suddenly the record ended while we were on home ground.
Let’s face the reality – the people at NFA [Namibia Football Association] are not doing their jobs. They have money to use, but they are not using it. They are not providing friendly games for the coach to select the best starting 11. They know the premier league games are not screened on TV for the coach to see all players in action. How do they expect the team to show good results ?
I suggest that the ministry of sport does something. Give money to NBC TV Or One Africa TV to screen at least one game a weekend to make it easier for the coach to select the best team and for the players to watch one another, study each other and know each other’s  playing styles.
We have a lot of talented players in Namibia. The likes of Henrico Botes, Tangeni Shipahu, Benson Shilongo and many others, but they are not being given a chance to prove their talents and qualities.
We want and deserve better results. We have never been at the World Cup before. We want to be known all over the globe.
