Indeed Namcol did wonders for many serious pupils who really wanted to rectify their errors. Of course, everybody makes mistakes and can only correct them if and only if a second chance prevails except those who fail repeatedly.
However, I feel pity for the condition under which our tutors (Namcol tutors) operate. Firstly, they tirelessly devote their time to work under pressure after work. Most of them spend sleepless nights marking our assignments and tests after they have worked on fulltime students’ work throughout the day, simply to turn the merciful lives into meaningful ones. Imagine these people spending almost two consecutive hours with us yet the salary is not conducive.
Why can’t we motivate these respective tutors through increasing their incentives and then we access the end of year results? Or else give them a yearly bonus instead. Who knows why there is only a slight improvement in learners’ yearly performance? Perhaps this is one of the causes. Tutors really need to be strapped with a token that is worth their work. Besides, why can’t the state pay free tax incentives?
It’s not easy to employ permanent tutors, but with the existing ones, we can still go ahead. A certain poet once said if you want positive changes, you have to invest, particularly in education.
I know that you also know that Namcol has many successful outputs (youths) who are now serving in several ministries of this beloved land. Isn’t this good? Implementing what has been stated above is not easy but remember that bread doesn’t come on a silver plate. In short, action speaks louder than words.
