ICC Is Just A Tool To Re-colonise Africa

“IF I may say so, this is not a court set up to bring to book prime ministers of United Kingdom or the President of United States,” said Robin Cook, former British foreign minister.

This statement removed all doubts about the clear intentions of the International Criminal Court based in The Hague, Netherlands. ICC is not an international court, but rather a Western tool to re-colonise Africa, and it’s high time African countries pulled out of this kangaroo court since it is no longer serving its purpose which was supposed to be, among others, to prosecute individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression.
It’s shocking to note that most of the Rome Statute are African nations, while strategic powers like the USA, China, Russia, India, Japan and many others are not. This court has all too obviously ignored crystal-clear cases of superpower abuses of human rights and even abuses by their client states. It has courageously gone after those people it has seen as being weak, and who are, to be certain, Africans!
So far this court has only indicted Africans, who include the following: Joseph Kony, Vincent Otti, Raska Lukwiya, Okot Odhiambo, Dominic Ongwen (Uganda), Thomas Lubanga, Germain Katanga, Matheieu Ngudjolo, Bosco Ntanganda, Jean-Pierre Bemba (DRC), Uhuru Kenyatta, William Ruto, Francis Muthaura, Joshua Sang, Mohammed Ali, Henry Kosgey (Kenya), Simone Gbagbo, Laurent Gbagbo (Ivory Coast), Callixte Mbashimana (Rwanda), Muammar Al Gaddafi, Abdullah Senussi, Saif Al Islam Gaddafi (Libya), Omar Bashir, Ahmed Haroun, Ali Kushayb, Bahr Garda, Abdallah Banda, Saleh Jerbo (Sudan).
Why do you think all the indictees are African and none are from Britain and USA? Is that not sickening hypocrisy and double standards on the part of the ICC? It’s very shocking and unfortunate that not even George Bush or Tony Blair are indicted for the gross loss of human lives they caused in Iraq and Afghanistan and the ICC felt it fit to indict people like Uhuru Kenyatta who was not directly involved in the 2007 post-election violence?
This is a great insult to Africans, the African Union and its members must do something about this before its too late. Last but not least, African countries should consider withdrawing en masse from this institution should it continue doing what it is doing in Africa now.
