Unions Playing With Fire
I AM very disturbed by certain autocratic union leaders who have lost their mandate as true representatives of the working masses, and I refer to an article in The Namibian of September 4, 2012 where it was reported that the Government Institutions Pensions Fund (GIPF) issue might not feature on the agenda of the Namibia Public Workers’ Union (Napwu) congress from 11 - 14 September 2012.
This in my opinion is truly provocative and tantamount to stretching the workers’ patience to the limit.
Comrades, a humble appeal to you is please don’t play with fire. This GIPF, as well as all other outstanding corruption cases, are now long overdue. Please place the GIPF issue on the agenda as a matter of urgency because our patience is running out.
