As a liberated Namibian youth who understands and appreciates democracy and independence, it hurts to see that most people who have been appointed to lead the youth mislead them and we, as young people, choose to believe in the leader rather than the system.
As a matter of principle I was taught that whenever a leader elevates himself higher than the system, such a leader will either lead the sheep astray or he will self destruct.
In general Namibian culture we believe that you should respect elders irrespective of whether they are right or wrong. This is a common thing among all the groups, whether black or white. When an elder speaks you listen, when he reprimands you publicly, you obey. Should you disagree with him you approach the person one-on-one out of public eye.
Ngurare should know you don’t call a Cabinet minister, who is older, ‘a crazy chicken’. The fact that he calls a Swapo Cabinet minister ‘a crazy chicken’ on the social network Facebook shows that he elevates himself higher than the system. I’m afraid to say this but we are now heading in the direction of the ANC Youth League where a certain leader elevated himself and his followers believe more in his philosophy than the system that brought their independence. Kazenambo Kazenambo will always have my respect as a minister and as my elder.
Now that we are independent, we don’t use the same tactics anymore my fellow young Namibians. We are liberated and we are fighting the war of development. Respect your elders and you will be blessed.
