Police The Roads

IT REALLY comes with great sadness to read about how our fellow countrymen lost their lives in the accident between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo.

After reading the story, it made me realise that one’s life is very vulnerable every time you have to be on the road. This is not the first or second time our country has experienced an accident of this magnitude and it won’t be last either.
Now, I strongly believe that one should not only complain but approach problems with possible solutions and in this case I sense that we are aware of most, if not all, of the road issues we experience.
One fact is that our roads are safer during the festive season than any other period in the year. My question to the people responsible for seeing that the road regulations and rules are complied with is: Is it not possible to have the necessary manpower on our roads all year?
Please consider our lives because it might be you or your loved one tomorrow. I have already lost a loved one in the same way and my condolences go to all the people who were affected by the accident.
