Reasons For Lost Revenue

THERE is a correlation between revenue and population. But the question will remain as a young democratic country: Are we able to maximise collection of revenue?

Many taxpayers end up owing the Receiver of Revenue because of being under-taxed or because of late submission of tax returns.
Introduction of e-filing of tax in Namibia will increase revenue despite the initial cost of this kind of technology.
 Western countries (USA), adopted e-filing of tax in the 80s and have made it easy for people to submit their tax returns.
Many taxpayers today suffer loss of income because of lack of knowledge on the importance of submission of PAYE5s and other documents. Can Namibia adopt e-filing and do better than manual filing of tax? Yes.
