No House To Call Home

I WAS a Swapo pioneer who joined the party when I was 15 years old. Now I’m 44 years old and working for the public service with a degree qualification and not owning a house because I can’t afford any house.

Most government employees can’t buy a house in Windhoek, Okahandja, Swakopmund or Ongwediva or tell me where are the affordable houses (below N$400,000).
Now tell me why the government is having home loans worth nothing. The government should say thanks only teachers are striking because nurses and all government employees should go on strike for basic living. Swapo sold us to the capitalistic approach. Swapo had socialistic ideology which died with the struggle for independence.
Employees in Namibia will never own houses if we don’t talk about salary increases today. Yes, we should follow rules and procedures to do things or to be listened to but we have also learned that it is better to be dead than to live as slave.
