Fire Them All

AIR Namibia is supposed to be the ‘pride’ of Namibia. This is one of the airlines that connect the rest of the world with Namibia.

I have been working in the tourism industry for over 10 years and my job takes me to our international airport at least three times a week and what I have been experiencing for many years now is simply horrific.
Service is non-existent. I don’t even know whether the Air Namibia staff know what customer care or service means. For the ground crew at the airport, it’s basically just to come to work, check in a few passengers then smoke or sit around waiting for their shift to end.
It really does not look like they came to work seeing that I have been having a lot of complaints from my guests about the attitude at the check-in counters.
I recently had to send a few parcels to Cape Town and decided to try and see what Air Namibia cargo would charge me. Eventually a lady answered and she made me hold the line for almost 20 minutes while there was a ‘meeting’ in the background.
Needless to say, I never got an answer on how much it would cost me for my parcel, just because the Air Namibia staff was too busy with their own private meeting to provide a service or at least do what they are paid to do. I think that 90 percent of the ground crew at Air Namibia are useless and are stealing people’s hard-earned money by getting paid while not working. Fire them, employ people who want to work and give the pilots their increase so that they can bring tourists to Namibia as we need the income from tourism.
Theo Namases, please get out of your office and spend some time at the airport and actually see why Air Namibia is running at a loss every year.
