The Kaptein Witbooi Notes

PLEASE allow me to express my disappointment with the so-called ‘Nujoma Notes’. If we are to establish ourselves as a nation, why do we have to change the things for which we are recognised?

It really was not necessary to replace the face of one of our nation’s heroes. With much respect to our first President who already received a lot of honours, we still have to honour other heroes as well and Kaptein Witbooi’s removal from the Namibian currency notes feels like he’s been stripped off the captaincy.
It hurts as I am a proud Namibian and these things make our nation look like we focus too much on one person, party, or a few favoured individuals, while we have to honour other leaders equally.
There are too many unfair things happening in our country – it’s useless to talk about them but only pray for improvement.
