The Power Of Lies

IF ALL of us are willing to believe in the politically motivated lie then this lie will eventually enter history and will - in our perception and that of our children - become truth.

All the deceivers need to do is to ‘harmonise’ the relevant notes in a given society and it will happen.
This happened and still happens all over the world at all times and not only on the political front.
All spheres of human societies were, at one time or another, targeted by lies. It took great efforts and pain of humans to remove some lies out of their perceptions and history books.
However, some lies have stayed alive.
It is interesting that people are so prone to believe in lies. It is still more interesting that they so often favour the lie above the obvious truth.
Even if the lie leaves them hungry and cold, poor and neglected, oppressed and beaten up he wants to keep ‘his world’ alive, he wants to continue to listen and he wants to ‘live’ the untrue world.
It seems as if he is afraid of the truth. It seems he is afraid of the ‘mirror’, too.
So often, we see people virtually ‘living’ in the TV-soap-operas, we see them craving for them, caring for and identifying with the characters portrayed in them.
We know that nothing is further from the truth as are the many political lies we swallow daily and try to digest.
However, they do not fill our stomachs; we are still hungry, still without the basic amenities that people have the right to expect in our modern times.
Our time is the time of internet, of cellphones, of ‘facebook’ and ‘twitter’ and of globalisation.
We should be able to differentiate between what is right and wrong, we know the ills of our own society as well as the ills of other societies. We can read.
We read newspapers and we read books. We received the education our schools could give us. And life itself taught us many, many lessons.
However, regardless of that all, we still believe in lies. We want to live in fantasy-world; we refuse to enter reality.
Puzzling, isn’t it? And funny too, because those telling us their lies know well that we know their stories are lies.
But they know also that we want to believe these lies.
Therefore, little will change tomorrow and the day after tomorrow – and that because us all, the tellers of falsehood and deceit as well as his listeners, will be ‘happy’ forever!
