In my view this is being conspired by the rich, so it is basically a fight between the rich and the poor. The rich should always remember that we the poor outnumber them by far, so if they want to test our resolve, we will eventually defeat them.
They started at Herero Mall and we thought they would stop there, and now they want to implement the same nonsense in the whole city. Imagine we are trying to put pap on the plate for our families by selling liquor and now somebody is trying to close down our source of bread and butter.
The police is now playing with our stomachs! The majority of our people don’t have jobs in this country and they are trying hard to put together a decent life for themselves without depending much on the government, yet some uncaring laws are being implemented without providing a clear alternative to the Namibian people.
The fact is if our government and the police want to close down illegal shebeens then they must provide work to the people. We all want to survive in this country! The majority of the people in Namibia live in the shanty towns and are currently experiencing the cold and now the police wants to add hunger on top of that. Please members of parliament remember that we the people voted you to power and if you are only looking after your own interests and not that of the people we can easily vote you out of the office.
